West Ham continued their fine home form with a comfortable win over the Trotters which moved them up to eighth in the Premier League.

In a hard fought game it took 66 minutes before Eyal Berkovic broke the deadlock and just moments later the visitors were down to ten men after Gerry Taggart was sent-off for a foul on Craig Forrest.

John Hartson doubled the lead after 75 minutes and put the finishing touches to the win with his second goal in injury time.

The Hammers went onto finish eighth with a fine home record which saw them lose only twice at the Boleyn Ground.
