Duo shortlisted for awards!

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic and playmaker Dimitri Payet have been shortlisted for two prestigious Barclays Premier League awards.

Bilic is one of four bosses battling for the Manager of the Month award for September, having guided the Hammers to victories at home to Newcastle United and at Manchester City, and a 2-2 Boleyn Ground draw with Norwich City.

The Croatian is one of four managers shortlisted, alongside Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal, Everton’s Roberto Martinez and Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Should he win, Bilic would emulate the achievements of predecessors Harry Redknapp, Alan Pardew – who he faces at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon – and newly-appointed Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce in winning the trophy.

Payet, meanwhile, is up against Leicester City’s England striker Jamie Vardy, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, Watford forward Odion Ighalo and Manchester United pair Anthony Martial and Daley Blind.

The Frenchman scored two goals and recorded two assists in September, helping the Hammers to maintain their position in the Barclays Premier League’s top six.

Should he win, Payet would follow in the footsteps of Stuart Pearce, Anton Ferdinand and Scott Parker, who have previously won the award.

Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate the gaffer and Dimitri and wish them good luck!
