Dev Squad set for Swans' test

The young Hammers face Swansea City away on Monday
The West Ham United Development Squad are set to embark on the first of two games within three days with a trip to South Wales to face Swansea City U21.

The young Hammers approach the game in fine form having won three of their last four matches, the most recent triumph, a 3-2 win over league leaders Derby County at Rush Green, will give them a massive confidence boost ahead of the Swans’ clash.

Since then, Elliot Lee and Martin Samuelsen, leading goalscorers with four apiece have gone on loan to Blackpool and Peterborough United respectively, and it will be interesting to see who Terry Westley turns to.

The Academy Manager has a range of options at his disposal with strikers Jordan Brown, Jaanai Gordon and Luka Belic vying for a place, while younger forwards Jahmal Hector-Ingram  and Idris Kanu have also impressed this term.

Opponents Swansea will provide a tough test for the Hammers, currently sixth in the Barclays U21 Premier League Division Two with 13 points from eight games.

However the Welsh outfit have lost their last two games to Fulham and Millwall, after thrashing Aston Villa 5-0 and will be looking for a quick response.
