West Ham climbed out of the relegation zone thanks to a hard fought win over the Blues at the Boleyn Ground on this day in 1965.
Peter Brabrook and Martin Peters got a goal each to send over 30,000 Hammers fans home happy.
This was a busy season for the Club in which they enjoyed a run to the League Cup final, where they lost out to West Bromwich Albion on aggregate. The Hammers also reached the semi-finals of the European Cup Winners Cup where Borussia Dortmund proved too strong.
