Founder - We were impressed by the options

The first Band 2 Season Ticket Holders have been selecting their seats at the New Stadium Reservation Centre this week and are impressed with the quality of options available to them.

David Drury has sat with his family in the East Stand for years and, though initially unsure about relinquishing his Boleyn Ground spot, is delighted with his new seat at the Hammers’ new home.

And David expects it will likely be a similar scenario for his fellow Band 2 Season Tickets, as they too take up their appointments in the coming days and weeks.

“We were pleasantly surprised by our options, definitely,” he told West Ham TV. “There was more there than I thought there was going to be, more options, so I felt like we actually had a choice, which is nice.

“We weren't sure what it was going to be like when we got in, because we've got pretty good seats now that we're really happy with, but I think we were pleasantly surprised as a group.

“We're still quite close to the middle, at the front of the upper tier. They’re good seats, we’re pleased with them.

“We always sit together, we've had the same seats for years on end. There are five of us, so quite a big family group, we always go together. That's what it's all about.

“It's exciting, you can't deny it's exciting, even though it's obviously sad to leave the old ground, you can't get over the fact that it's going to be good. It looks like they're going to do it really well. I can't wait for the first match.”

Jason Taylor, meanwhile, is part of a group of 14, with both he and a friend using the unique opportunity to secure seats for their children, by their side, on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

U16 Season Tickets are £99 across the board and Jason applauded the Club’s decision to make it so very affordable to blood the next generation of Hammers.

“It was brilliant, it's all people we've been sitting with and we've added some more, brought the children as well, so exciting times,” he confirmed.

“For £99 it's fantastic, a fantastic opportunity. It's the way forward, isn't it.”

It is not just the price that Jason approves of, having had a glimpse of the views that await at the new Stadium.

“I'm impressed, it looks pretty fantastic actually,” he added. “I can't wait to get to see the seat to be honest. It should be good.”

For Jason, football has always been a family affair and so it will remain, with his five and eight-year-old children soon to become regulars at Stratford.

He continued: “My daughter and son have been going since they were four as well, following on the family tradition.

“I've bought one extra season ticket for this year and one I'm going to get one each for them next year. My friend, as well, is getting his two for his boys, so it’s four new Season Ticket Holders.

“I used to sit in the Chicken Run and then moved up to the East Stand Upper in my uncle's old seat and my father's old seat as well, so the legacy lives on.”
