Argentina 0-3 Brazil
Copa America Final
Maracaibo, Venezuala
15 July 2007

There was despair for Argentina on this date eight years ago when they came up short in the Copa America decider.

Then-Hammer Carlos Tevez was winning his ninth cap for the Albiceleste, scoring in the 4-1 group stage victory over the United States as his country made rampant progress through to the final.

After notching nine goals in their three group phase matches, Argentina then saw off Peru 4-0 and Mexico 3-0 to set up the meeting with the Brazilians.

However, Tevez and his teammates were given a dose of their own medicine as goals from Julio Baptista and Dani Alves, plus a Roberto Ayala own goal, gave Brazil a 3-0 victory and their eighth Copa America title.
