Name: Jimmy Lindsay
Born: Hamilton, Scotland, 12 July 1949
Clubs: West Ham United, Watford, Colchester United, Hereford United, Shrewsbury Town

Scottish midfielder Jimmy Lindsay, who played for West Ham United between 1966 and 1971, was born on this day 66 years ago.

He signed professional forms with the Club in 1966, after making his way south from amateur side Possilpark YMCA in his native Scotland.

Lindsay made his debut in 1968, but found it tough to break into the first team on a consistent basis and he made 45 appearances in all before moving on to Second Division side Watford in 1971.

The midfielder remained at Vicarage Road for three years and later played for Hereford United and Shrewsbury Town, winning the Division Three title with the latter two.

Upon retiring, Lindsay settled in Shrewsbury and now runs a pub in the town.
