Allison led a visionary group of players in discussing and devising new tactics as the modern-day Hammers took shape.
He took charge of coaching sessions and mentored a young Bobby Moore, making his mark as one of the most flamboyant characters in English football.
He played 238 league games for the Club and, post-retirement, enjoyed a fine coaching and managerial career.
