The Hammers prevailed in a five-goal thriller against Coventry City at the Boleyn Ground 22 years ago today.
West Ham were competing in their first Premier League campaign and this victory pushed them into the top half for the first time that season.
Julian Darby notched twice for the visitors, but the Hammers had firepower of their own and overcame their Midlands opponents with a Trevor Morley penalty and goals from Peter Butler and Tim Breacker.
West Ham would go on to finish 13th in the table while Coventry were two places higher.
