Reid targets Stoke success

Winston Reid is targeting a return to winning ways on Saturday
Having gained a hugely creditable point at Manchester United on Saturday, Winston Reid is targeting a return to winning ways when West Ham United host Stoke City this weekend.

West Ham gained many plaudits for their display at Old Trafford - achieved without four of their star attacking names - but the point extended their winless run to five.

Reid said the positive of the performance outweighed the disappointment of not claiming maximum points and thinks that will stand them in good stead when they take on the Potters.

He said: “Stoke are no easy team, they've improved themselves since they changed their coach. Mark Hughes has changed their football, changed their personnel and they are a tough team to play against.

“We played against them last year and didn't beat them and, although they have added more flair to their team, they still have that doggedness and are hard to beat.

“When you come across those teams in the league you have to prepare yourself that it's going to be a battle and it won't be any different come Saturday. We'll have to make sure we're ready for it.”
