Reading left back Wayne Bridge turns 34 today - and had a loan spell with the Hammers in the 2010/11 season.
Born in Southampton, his career began with his hometown club, where he picked up an FA Cup runners-up medal in 2003.
He earned a £7m move to Chelsea that same summer, and the highlight of his first season at Stamford Bridge was the winning goal in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal.
The next year brought a Premier League winners medal with it, but he would go on to lose his place in the side and joined Fulham on loan before signing for Manchester City in January 2009.
Again a regular at first, he was moved out of the team by the 2010/11 campaign and played 15 Barclays Premier League games for West Ham on loan.
Following further loans at Sunderland and Brighton, Bridge signed a permanent deal at Reading last summer and retired in May after playing 12 games for the Royals.
