Premier League Enterprise winners meet Joint-Chairman David Gold

Last year’s Premier League Enterprise winners had the opportunity to meet Joint-Chairman David Gold at the Stoke game last weekend.

Mr Gold invited the young entrepreneurs to a VIP suite to watch the match as a reward for their Enterprise Challenge triumph.

The boys discussed at length with Mr Gold how they’ve been getting on since winning the challenge, as well as a chance to quiz him on his career to date and growing up in the local area.

The young enterprise enthusiasts were particular inspired by Mr Gold’s memorabilia, which included an old picture from his West Ham Colts playing days.

Group leader Hassan spoke of his delight at receiving such a rare opportunity.

“We felt as though we were superstars! The hospitality was incredible and having the chance to watch the game in the comfort of a box after speaking with Mr Gold was a fantastic experience. He was genuinely interested about our future and how we’ve been getting on since winning the Premier League Enterprise Challenge. It’s the best footballing experience I have ever had!”

The boy’s teacher, Mr Giordano, from Stepney Green School reflected on a wonderful day from a West Ham fan’s perspective.

“As a lifelong Hammers fan, the day was extra special for me. For the boys to have the opportunity to meet the Chairman, hear his story and see what a humble guy he is was invaluable to their development as businessmen and people.”

Senior Community Officer Shamajul Motin was pleased to see another demonstration of the Club’s commitment to community run programmes.

“The relationship between the Foundation and the Club has never been stronger, with the Club supporting so many projects we have underway. Mr Gold has been fantastic role model to our young people and his enthusiasm and love for the Club has really inspired our young people.”
