Classic match
West Ham United 2-1 Fulham
Division Two
8 April 1955
The Hammers were in London derby action on this day in 1955 when Fulham made the journey across the capital to the Boleyn Ground.
The 1954/55 campaign was entering its final straight and this Good Friday meeting with the Cottagers was the first of two in three days over the Easter weekend.
Ted Fenton's West Ham side claimed bragging rights in the first match, moving up to third in the Division Two table thanks to a 2-1 victory.
John Dick, who was to score 26 goals that season, netted for a third consecutive game, whilst Malcolm Musgrove weighed in with West Ham's other goal.
The teams reconvened for the reverse fixture on Easter Monday - the Hammers had a game at Luton Town on Easter Saturday sandwiched in between - and on that occasion the scoresheet remained blank,
West Ham tailed off to end the season in eighth place, while Fulham were down in 14th.
