Ipswich Town 2-3 West Ham United
Premier League
28 October 2001
West Ham United made it three consecutive wins as the strikers took control against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on this day 14 years ago.
Paolo Di Canio had given the Hammers a half-time lead before they were pegged back by the Tractor Boys. Frederic Kanoute then put the visitors back in front before substitute Jermain Defoe netted in the 90th minute.
Ipswich did not give up though and they struck again after Defoe's goal but ran out of time in pursuit of an equaliser.
Glenn Roeder's side went on to finish seventh in the Premier League while Ipswich ended in the bottom three and were relegated.
