Apply to join the SAB

Applications are now open for supporters to apply to join a new-look West Ham United Supporter Advisory Board.

With an ever growing need to involve supporters in the Club's decision making mechanisms, it was felt that the time was right to take a fresh look at supporter consultation as a whole, of which the SAB is naturally a pivotal part.

And following the recent meeting of the existing SAB, during which the new application process was outlined, the Club are pleased to share those details with the wider supporter base.

A modified selection process will see the formation of a smaller overall group of 66 members, but one that better represents the diversity and demographic makeup of the Club's fans. The Club are therefore actively seeking applications from across the supporter base, so that all ages, genders and backgrounds have appropriate representation. The criteria, for instance, will ensure that concessions at both ends of the spectrum are suitably represented.

Additionally, though membership has previously been restricted to Season Ticket Holders and Members, match attendees who have attended a minimum of six home fixtures over the past two seasons are now also welcome to apply. Please note that all applicants are required to provide details of three fellow supporters, who also meet the criteria, to second the application.

The Club is also calling upon representatives of all official and independent supporter groups from the many key sectors of the wider West Ham family to add to the offers of official representation from groups such as Bondholders, Corporate Members, wheelchair and ambulant fans, and other representative groups that have already approached the Club.

Each serving member will be invited to sit on the SAB for a maximum of two years and is requested to commit to three meetings a year. As has always been the case, the SAB will continue to be a key sounding board on core issues, while also advising on strategy, not least where the new Stadium is concerned.

Additionally, for the first time ever, the SAB and its members are now to be called upon to represent the Club at major external meetings, for example at the Premier League and the like. SAB Members should also be prepared to be called in at short notice to advise the Club on key developments, as and when they happen.

The closing date for applications is Monday 17 November at midday and completed applications are to be emailed to [email protected] or sent to Supporter Advisory Board, West Ham United, Boleyn Ground, Green Street, Upton Park, London E13 9AZ.
