Junior Ladies claim League Cup

West Ham United Ladies Under-13s ended their season in style to lift the Essex County League Cup.

The Hammers gave an outstanding performance to put league champions Great Danes to the sword by a commanding 5-1 scoreline.

The Danes had only been defeated once all season, but they had no answer to West Ham on the afternoon, who started at a great pace and struck first through Amber Denton.

West Ham continued to push their opponents back with wave after wave of attacks, and although Great Danes held out at 1-0 until the break, it was not long after half time that West Ham really took control.

Kelly Wealthall crashed home her first of the game, and that was swiftly follwed by a goal from Maddie O'Connor.

The Danes profited from a breakdown in communication in the Hammers' backline to pull one back but West Ham kept their foot on the pedal and Hannah Landen's great individual goal restored the three-goal advantage.

Wealthall then capped off a fine goalscoring season by notching the fifth to ensure the Hammers would retain their cup.
