Half-term activities at Olympic Park

West Ham United Community Sports Trust and England Athletics are teaming up to offer free half-term activities at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Aimed at all ages and abilities, England Athletics will be hosting AthleFIT and running sessions on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 May, from 12pm-2pm.

AthleFIT is England Athletics' brand new fitness programme, which combines athletics with a fun and exciting way of getting fit and remaining so.

The new programme will also include a leisurely jog around the scenic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Participants can look forward to sprint work, as well as QuadKids - a concept designed to give children the opportunity to participate in athletics' core disciplines. The group are to meet on the South Park lawn, located next to the ArcelorMittal Orbit.

Meanwhile, the South Park lawn will also play host to an open three-day football camp. For youngsters aged 11-18, attendees will be coached by football professionals and learn some new skills in the process.

Please note, participants should wear trainers or astro turfs, rather than studded boots. The three-day camp will run from Wednesday 28 to Friday 30 May, on each day beginning at midday and ending at 3pm.

Wherever possible, those planning to attend are asked to contact Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Activator Darryl Gheerawo in advance, either on [email protected] or 07803 201299.
