West Ham United 0-3 Liverpool
Division One
20 May 1985
West Ham United's sole involvement on this day was not a happy one as second-placed Liverpool comfortably beat them in a final day fixture at the Boleyn Ground.
The Reds raced into a 2-0 half time lead courtesy of a Paul Walsh double.
Jim Beglin's strike 11 minutes after the restart left the Hammers well beaten, and grateful for their victory over Ipswich Town in the previous game which kept them clear of relegation danger.
West Ham ended the campaign in 16th, two points ahead of the drop zone, while Liverpool finished 13 points adrift of title-winning city rivals Everton.
