Classic match

West Ham United 2-0 Manchester City
Division One
9 May 1987

As West Ham prepare to try and rain on Manchester City's title parade on Sunday, we remember a fine away fine home win against the Citizens.

The Hammers added insult to injury for the relegated visitors, who were sent crashing to another defeat with Liam Brady and Tony Cottee scoring the goals.

Three points made up for a 3-1 defeat against the same opponents earlier in the season when Alvin Martin scored the Hammers consolation.

Final day victory ensured West Ham finished 15th in Division One, while a 21st place finish saw the blue half of Manchester relegated.
