Chadwell Chatter

Hello everyone,

As a player or any professional, if you enjoy what you're doing you always want to be able to do it. So to have injuries and niggles, you can never quite do it to the best of your abilities, and that has been very frustrating. But now I'm happy to actually be back training, without pain or any niggles. I can just go out there and do my very best and slowly build.

My body feels good and I'm very happy. I haven't missed a training session for the last ten days to two weeks and this week we're training every day, so I feel very positive about things.

I can only do my best, I'm happy that I'm allowed to do my best, that my body allows me to do my best. That's all I can do, the rest is with the manager obviously. If I play, if I don't play, that's his decision, he's there for that. But as long as I'm able to train and work hard, I'm very happy.

I feel very ready to go. As a player you want to play and that's all you think about. I'm no different and I want to get as much as I can out there. If I get the opportunity I just have to make sure I'm ready for it.

Last year's 1-0 win at Stoke City was a good memory in the end, but it was very unfortunate for Joe Cole to get injured after just 15 minutes or so. The opportunity arose for me and I took it, making the winner for Jack Collison. Hopefully we can write the same story on Saturday.

I'll be ready, as long as I make myself available, that's the best I can do. I can only give myself the opportunity to be selected and that's what I will do.

We don't want Stoke to do the double over us, definitely. We were very unlucky at home to lose 1-0 to them back in August, because it was really out of nothing that Jermaine Pennant scored the free-kick.

It's a very tough ground to go to, I think everybody has experienced that, Manchester United, Man City and all sorts. But we go there with great confidence. We have belief, we had a good run of games, Everton was very unfortunate, but we go to Stoke with every confidence, plus they are in and around us so we know we can take something from the game and we're going to try to do that.

Only time will tell if the two week break has helped us or not. Sometimes it's good because it allows players to recover and actually be fresher to engage again. But sometimes it is actually the opponent who is sharper than you, because you lost that week, you see. Hopefully, it will be for the positive this time. The boys seem in good spirits, everybody seems sharp. I'm very confident, basically.

Come on you Irons,
Vaz
