Excitement is building around the other side of the globe for West Ham United's Football United tour to New Zealand.
A crew from Kiwi TV channel TV3 were invited to the Hammers' training camp in Evian this week to capture the build-up to the games against Wellington Phoenix and Sydney FC.
Reporter Dan Parker, who was producing a piece for the Campbell Live show, revealed how keen his countrymen are to see the Hammers.
He explained: "We are from a daily current affairs show in New Zealand, Campbell Live, and we were invited over here to come and see the camp and just get a feel for how things are progressing ahead of this amazing tour that West Ham and Newcastle are undertaking shortly.
"As far as New Zealanders are concerned, there's Ryan Nelson and there's Winston Reid, as well as a couple of other guys who have made it in England. You might think that it's all hobbits and All Blacks, but there are a lot of people who are into their football.
"The Barclays Premier League is big, and so is Winston Reid. He's a great role model for the young kids, although rugby is synonymous with New Zealand, there are actually more young kids playing football now. It's just that not so many kick on, maybe because they've not had so much idea of what they can do.
"People like Ryan Nelsen and WInston Reid give young people in New Zealand the idea that they can actually make it and play for an amazing club like West Ham one day.
"Since Winston transferred to West Ham, they've had a huge following in New Zealand. He's got a big profile over there, he's a well-respected sportsman, especially as All Whites captain.
"It's been amazing to be able to show people back home the life of a footballer. We're going to be at the pre-season friendly against Stevenage and to be able to show them the day-to-day life of a footballer is a wonderful insight. I think it'll help create a little more buzz around the tour and get it into people's minds."
