A goal apiece for Clyde Best and Geoff Hurst proved to be just enough as the Hammers advanced to play Hereford United in the next round.
The Hammers overcame Hereford after a replay but exited the competition in the fifth round after a 4-2 defeat to Huddersfield Town.
