The Hammers marched into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after thrashing Championship side Burnley at the Boleyn Ground.

Thomas Hitzlsperger scored on his debut with Carlton Cole bagging a brace and goals for Freddie Sears and Winston Reid completing the scoring.

Jay Rodriguez struck a consolation for the visitors as they exited the cup at the hands of a Hammers team who would eventually join them in the Championship for the following season.
