Bobby Moore started in defence as the Hammers as kept up their impressive record at Upton Park in the 1965/66 season with a 4-0 win over Sheffield United.

Ron Greenwood's side won 12 of their 21 home fixtures during the campaign, while the Blades only triumphed five times on their travels. West Ham were also in the midst of a European Cup Winners' Cup campaign, having won the trophy the previous year, and they reached the semi-finals before their journey was brought to an end by Borussia Dortmund.
