West Ham United can confirm that forward Andy Carroll will serve a three-match suspension following his sending-off against Swansea City on Saturday.
Carroll was shown the red card by referee Howard Webb following a challenge with Chico Flores just before the hour-mark in West Ham's 2-0 Barclays Premier League win at the Boleyn Ground.
The Club launched an appeal against the decision, but a three-man Football Association regulatory commission decided to reject the claim for wrongful dismissal after assessing written evidence from the match officials and the Hammers, as well as video footage of the incident.
The No9's three-match suspension will rule the forward out for the Barclays Premier League matches at Aston Villa and at home to Norwich City and Southampton.
