West Ham United Community Sports Trust is pleased to announce details of its inaugural Community World Cup tournament, one that will end in a prestigious finals day at the Boleyn Ground.
The exciting seven-a-side contest will mirror the real deal in Brazil this summer, with 32 sides battling it out for the right to play on the Hammers' hallowed turf on Tuesday 20 May.
With each team to be assigned a World Cup finalist, the tournament will follow the official format for an Under-8s, Under-10s and Under-12s competition.
The preliminary stages are to be held at the home of Orsett Park Royals, Loft Hall Farm, Brentwood Road, Essex, RM16 3BD. The two youngest cohorts, the Under-8s and 10s, will try their luck on Saturday 10 May, prior to the Under-12s taking centre stage the following Saturday. In both instances, the first games will kick off at 9am, with the fixtures scheduled to be completed by 3pm.
Aside from the prospect of running out at the Hammers' home, West Ham coaches will be keeping a keen eye on the talent on show, with every chance of players being referred to the Club's famed Academy. Participants will also be automatically entered into a prize draw to win an official Matchday Package for 2014/15.
Team entry is priced at £65 and interested parties are asked to move swiftly, with places likely to be filled very quickly.
