Big Sam & Nobes quizzed for Barclays

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce and midfielder Mark Noble were on hand to field questions from a group of youngsters at Barclays' headquarters in Canary Wharf on Thursday.

The pair were taking part in a day organised in conjunction with Barclays and the ReachOut charity, with the group of 15-18 year olds gaining some experience of a corporate environment and to provide a chance to meet with an network with professionals.

Aside from the Q&A session with the Hammers duo, the agenda involves a networking lunch, break out group Q&A session with Barclays employees, a presentation from Barclays HR Early Careers advisor, a trading game, and finally a tour of the building.

Big Sam and Noble were only too happy to share their experiences gained on the football field, with the Hammers boss commenting: "It's been a very good event.

"It's good to see the initiatives of the charity ReachOut, who are trying to put people on the right track through independent mentoring and visiting places like Barclays.

"Mark Noble and myself have been down to talk about what is most people's favourite subject, and that's Barclays Premier League football.

"Giving up your time on a day off is always a very important thing for us to do and it was a pleasure to be here to speak to these youngsters. Hopefully we can give them some inspiration for the future."
