Vote for Bobby!

West Ham United supporters can help Hammers and England legend Bobby Moore OBE be immortalised at Madame Tussauds.

The world-famous wax museum, in central London, is giving football fans to vote for a footballing legend to be honoured with a new figure in time to celebrate the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Five World Cup greats have been shortlisted - England's 1966 winner and captain Moore, Brazilian three-time winner Pele, Argentina star and 1986 winner Diego Maradona, German World Cup-winning captain and manager Franz Beckenbauer and Brazilian two-time winner Ronaldo.

With voting closing at midnight on Thursday 7 November, supporters can help honour Moore's memory by voting online or in person at Madame Tussauds.

"We knew we wanted to mark next year's World Cup by creating a figure of one of the competition's finest footballers, but there are so many gifted and talented sportsmen to choose from it's amazingly difficult to select just one!" said Madame Tussauds PR manager Nicole Fenner. "So we decided to turn over the decision to the real experts - the fans. As a starting point we asked more than 200 football writers and commentators* around the country to submit their top five World Cup players and from their submissions we've come up with a final shortlist for the public to vote on."

"We are confident the footballing figure we create will truly be the people's choice!"

The winner will be revealed on Sunday 10 November. Work will then begin to create the wax figure of the chosen footballer to be revealed here at Madame Tussauds London in the run up to the tournament in June 2014. The figure will be portrayed in a special World Cup set in our interactive sports area.

Nicole continued: "The key consideration for us when we create any new figure is who our guests want to see in the attraction. We usually use ongoing research we conduct with guests to help us make our decisions, but in this instance we wanted to get opinions from the whole football community.

"We know it will trigger debate and passionate discussion as football inevitably does, but we are confident the footballing figure we create will truly be the people's choice."
