West Ham United great Jack Burkett has put his memorabilia collection up for auction next week.
Burkett, who won the FA Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup with the Hammers in 1964 and 1965 respectively, has decided to put a large collection of items up for sale.
Among the lots which will go under the hammer at Stacey's Auctioneers & Valuers at the Essex Auction Rooms in Rayleigh on Monday 22 July will be badges, pennants, programmes, plaques, medals and a host of unique items presented to the full-back during his illustrious career.
Of the 50 lots which will go up for auction, a large number relate to Burkett's role in West Ham's two unforgettable successes in the mid-1960s.
For 1964 FA Cup final collectors, a Winners Plaque issued by the club, two Banquet menus for the post-final meal at the London Hilton and a Winners Tankard presented by the East Ham and West Ham Councils will be of great interest.
For European Cup Winners' Cup collectors, one lot incluces a Silver Tray, photocards and a signed programme from the semi-final victory over Real Zaragoza, while another is a Gas Table Lighter awarded to Burkett by Newham Corporation following West Ham's 2-0 final victory over TSV 1860 Munich.
The auction will also feature a wide variety of items collected by Burkett during his 12-year career as a West Ham player. These range from medals and other gifts presented to the full-back during his time as a Junior in the Academy to programmes and souvenirs collected during his seven seasons in the first-team squad.
Fans may also be interested in items collected during his time as a player with Charlton Athletic, Millwall and Southend United, as well as during his time as player/manager of Irish side St Patrick's Athletic and manager of the Saudi Arabia Under-18s and Norwegian club Orsta IL.
