Hammers midfielder Alou Diarra turns 32 today having returned to the Club this summer following a loan at French Ligue Un club Rennes.
The French international joined West Ham in 2012 from Marseille, but struggled with injury in the first half of last season and opted to join Rennes temporarily, where he made ten appearances.
Having started off in France with Louhans-Cuiseaux, he was bought by Bayern Munich and spent two years playing for their second team. Gerard Houllier then took him to Liverpool, but he failed to make a Premier League appearance and was loaned to Le Havre, Bastia and Lens.
It was when Lens signed him permanently in 2005 that his career really took off and he was a league winner with both Lyon and Bordeaux. He also won the League Cup whilst with Marseille.
An international with 44 caps, Diarra appeared in the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups for France, as well as in UEFA Euro 2012.
