82 mins - Bournemouth replace Cook with a certain Darren Anderton. The former Spurs man gets a warm welcome from the West Ham fans. Anderton is 41 now, but he's looking fit. He was a proper England hero back at Euro 96, if I remember my school days correctly.

81 mins - Tenacious from Taylor as he wins a corner. We have 7,080 fans inside the Goldsands Stadium - a great effort. Maiga is replaced by McCallum before the corner.

80 mins - McDermott now has no number on his back. Paul McCallum could be on shortly for West Ham. Mc's everywhere!

74 mins - After some superb skill from Cole, Diame's pass for O'Brien is just too strong. Goal kick. Bournemouth make three more changes, with Francis, Ward and Grabban being replaced by Addison, Fogden and Stockley.

73 mins - Inches away from a third as Taylor clips the ball over the top for Maiga. He has Flahavan bearing down on him, so elects the first-time half-volley that loops over the former Southend United goalkeeper and bounces out off the inside of the far post. So close! Thirty seconds later, Taylor crosses low and Flahavan is out smartly to smother.

72 mins - Great determination from Diame to hold off two challengers before spinning and playing in Cole. He can square for Maiga, who is marked, so elects to shoot low but the ball slaps into the side netting.

70 mins - Diarra is penalised for handball. That looked accidental and the West Ham players claim the referee only awarded it due to the appeals of the home side. Harte stands over the ball before stepping up and curling the shot a yard or so over the top. Jaaskelainen had it covered.

67 mins - Stephen Purches is on to replace MacDonald. Loud cheers all round for the Testimonial man.

67 mins - It's great to see Diame running with the ball again. Of course, his return for pre-season was delayed by FIFA World Cup qualifying duty with Senegal. He is back now and West Ham's squad is looking deep and strong. Saying that, Big Sam is on the market for at least one more 'quality' player to add to his ranks.

66 mins - Engelaar slides in and brings down a rampaging Daniels. Foul. I wouldn't fancy Engelaar sliding in on me. The free-kick initially comes to nothing.

65 mins - Australia are 124 for 3. Jimmy Anderson has just had Chris Rogers caught by Ian Bell for 52. Back here, a decent flowing move from the Cherries ends with Daniels slamming a shot into the side netting from Grabban's pass. He should have hit the target there as he had time and space. Instead, he drove the shot a yard or two wide of the near post.

63 mins - Jaaskelainen remains in goal, funnily enough. O'Brien, Tomkins, Potts and Taylor across the back four, with Diame, Engelaar and Diarra in midfield and Cole and Morrison supporting Maiga.

61 mins - Here we go! Collins, Collison, Noble, Rat, Reid and Jarvis are the men to be replaced. Vaz Te has also gone off, with Diarra the seventh man to come on.

59 mins - Just one change for now, with Sam Matthews on for Fraser for the home side. We'll be seeing some more shortly. Potts, Tomkins, Taylor and Cole are stripped. Diame will also be on soon, as will Morrison.

57 mins - Judging by the number of players warming-up, I believe we are about to have a whole raft of substitutions. Joe Cole and his old Hammers youth-team colleague Stephen Purches are having a chat on the touchline.

55 mins - Quality from Vaz Te, who dances a bit to make space for a cross before curling across from the right. The ball just eludes the head of Ward and Maiga cannot re-adjust in time to head home from six yards. The ball dribbles wide.

53 mins - Some patient build-up ends with Jarvis finding Vaz Te about 30 yards out. He shoots powerfully from that distance, but the ball comfortably clears the crossbar and flies into the half-built stand.

51 mins - Nolan needs the physio on again. He has a quick drink and is up on his feet again a short time later. He doesn't want to come off, but he is going to be replaced anyway. O'Brien takes the captain's armband and Orlando Engelaar is on in Nolan's place. Engelaar is MASSIVE.

48 mins - Disappointing end to a promising attack as Vaz Te sends Maiga clear down the right. He elects to cut back onto his left foot, nearly loses the ball and then sees his right-foot cross headed clear by Cook.

47 mins - That's a fantastic chance for Thomas with what is probably his first touch. He is clean through about 18 yards out, right of centre, but rushes his shot and slaps it well wide of the far post. Not the most composed of finishes. Groans from the home faithful.

46 mins - West Ham kick-off the second 45 minutes. I gather the remaining starters are set to play 60 minutes or so.

West Ham make one change at the break as Demel is replaced by Joey O'Brien. The Irishman is making his first appearance of the pre-season. Three changes for Bournemouth as Daniels, Thomas and Elphick are on for Harte, Pitman and McDermott.

48 mins - That's half-time. A decent half for the Hammers, but Bournemouth have played their part in an entertaining match. Nolan and Collison with the goals but there could easily have been more at both ends.

46 mins - GOAL! West Ham double their advantage but there is a bit of controversy. Maiga initially loses out to Cook before winning the ball back by the touchline. Bournemouth want a foul, but the referee says 'Play on' so the Hammers do. Collison is sent through and beats the offside trap. He has Vaz Te for company but goes on his own, dropping his shoulder, doing a step-over and rounding Flahavan before slotting into the vacant net.

45 mins - Ooooh! So close to a second and it's close to a carbon-copy of the first. Vaz Te finds Demel overlapping and the Ivorian crosses for Nolan, who stretches and sends a looping header that bounces back off the crossbar. Maiga tries to set up Collison, but the chance goes.

43 mins - Grabban gets in behind Demel and crosses low for Pitman to attack. Rat tracks the run superbly and makes the challenge to clear. The ball falls to a Bournemouth player, who belts it into Reid's face! Good block, if a little painful for the Kiwi captain! The whistle had gone for a foul on Rat, however.

41 mins - Another wicket for England. Ed Cowan is gone for 14, caught by Jonathan Trott off the bowling of Joe Root. Australia 111 for 2 chasing 311 to win.

37 mins - Maiga's attempted through ball is cut out and all of a sudden Bournemouth are on the attack. Fraser gets in behind and chops inside Collins, but Demel has tracked back and pokes the ball out for a corner. The initial delivery is cleared but when the cross comes back in from Francis, Pitman can only head back across the face of goal and wide. Nolan is hurt as he challenges for the header and he needs the physio on, plus the doctor. He is soon up on his feet, though, and back on after a short absence.

34 mins - We are back underway and West Ham are on the offensive. A sustained period of possession ends with Noble sliding a ball across for Nolan about 25 yards out. He takes a touch but his shot is charged down. The ball breaks for Maiga, whose shot is also blocked. The attack ends as Collison is penalised for tugging down his marker.

31 mins - We're having a water break. Both sets of players come to the sideline for a drink. The match officials get involved too. There is a murmur in the crowd.

27 mins - Bournemouth have a dangerous free-kick after Nolan is penalised for tripping MacDonald. Ian Harte wants it from about 30 yards. We all know what he can do with his left foot... Harte's effort hits the wall before Maiga's clearing header bounces up for Arter, who slices his left-foot shot well wide.

25 mins - Demel tries to clear but the ball hits Fraser and then the No20 before going behind for a corner. Demel makes amends by clearing the corner before the follow-up cross flies into the unfinished stand behind the goal.

24 mins - A slight lull in the action is filled by a stirring rendition of 'Bubbles' from the Hammers congregated in the stand opposite. There is a really good crowd in today, with at least 1,300 West Ham fans in attendance.

21 mins - Reid picks out Rat with a superb diagonal ball. Roland collects and sees his cross blocked behind for a corner. The left-back claps his hands together in frustration. Bournemouth deal with Noble's corner easily enough.

19 mins - Super football again from Bournemouth as the cross comes over from the left and No10 Pitman attempts a scissor kick that thuds into Reid and bounces away for a corner. Pitman appeals for a penalty for handball, but it's a corner. Maiga heads the delivery clear at the near post.

18 mins - Arter tries to pick out the run of Grabban with a raking ball over the top, but it's a tad too straight and skips through to Jaaskelainen. The Finn was quickly off his line there. Alert goalkeeping. With Adrian now at the Club, the 38-year-old knows he needs to maintain his fine form to keep his starting place. Competition is always good, as they say.

15 mins - Nolan tries his luck with an audacious effort from 30-odd yards. It flies miles wide.

14 mins - Jarvis collects again after Bournemouth are caught trying to play out from the back. He drops his shoulder and tries to curl the right-foot shot inside the far post, but sends it too wide. 'Oooohs' from the travelling Hammers. It was a few yards wide, however.

12 mins - The game has really ebbed and flowed in the early going. Bournemouth are trying to play their trademark passing game under Eddie Howe, while West Ham are pressing high and attempting to stop the Cherries' attacks at their source. When the home side do get through the initial barrier, they look dangerous, and right midfielder McDermott shows that again by curling in a cross that eludes Jaaskelainen and everyone else inside the penalty areas.

9 mins - GOAL! Nolan! Collins has the ball on halfway and is encouraged to shoot! He ignores the calls and feeds the ball wide right. It is laid back for Demel to run on to and he whips in an outstanding cross again and Nolan cannot miss with the header from eight yards. Flahavan was left clutching at air, such was the power on Nolan's header.

7 mins - It's all happening now. Collison latches on to a touch from Maiga after Bournemouth were caught dallying at the back. The No10 shoots hard with his left foot and the ball is going inside the near post until Flahavan pushes it aside for another corner. The flag kick is taken quickly and Noble sends a rasping shot just wide of the far post. Fantastic entertainment so far.

6 mins - Much better from the Hammers. Maiga, Vaz Te and Demel combine down the right before the Ivorian crosses low and hard across the face of the six-yard box. The defender at the far post puts the ball out for a corner. The delivery comes over from Noble and Vaz Te heads narrowly wide.

5 mins - Another shot on goal, this time from McDermott. Reid takes a thumping effort right where it hurts. He is tough as nails, though, and quickly back on his feet and back into the action.

4 mins - I'm informed by the man sat behind me that Arter's brother-in-law is none other than former Hammer Scott Parker.

3 mins - Rat concedes a corner. The ball is cleverly worked short and then out to Arter on the edge of the box. He is slightly to the left of centre as he shoots low and towards the base of the near post. Jaaskelainen makes another smart save low down. The ball is parried, but a defender is on hand to hack upfield. Great start from the home side.

1 min - Bournemouth almost take the lead inside 57 seconds in embarrassing fashion. Reid slides in to clear but misses the ball due to a misunderstanding with Rat. Pitman holds off the Romanian and runs to the edge of the box before squaring for Grabban. The former Millwall man shoots low with his left foot. Jaaskelainen goes down well to save and hold on to his left.

3.02pm - A slight delay before kick-off with the extra preliminaries surrounding a Testimonial. Bournemouth will kick-off shooting towards the shell of the stand to our right. Apparently, that stand will be full of seats for the visit of Real Madrid for a prestige friendly next Sunday. The workmen have got a job on their hands, that's for sure!

2.59pm - A lovely scene as the two teams emerge from the tunnel and then form a guard of honour for Stephen Purches. The former Hammers and Cherries star applauds the players and fans before taking the microphone. He thanks both sets of fans for supporting his Testimonial and there is warm applause from the stands. The sun is shining and the stage is set for a memorable afternoon for more reasons than one. Can West Ham maintain their 100 per cent pre-season record? Or will Bournemouth upset the odds and make Purches' day even more special?

2.52pm - Just a little more on Orlando Engelaar. The Dutchman is on trial with the Hammers and will be hoping to impress Big Sam this afternoon. He is an absolute giant of a man. Watching the lads doing their keepy-uppys, he looked to be towering over his young potential squad-mates! Engelaar featured four times for the Netherlands at Euro 2008, starting all four games as the Dutch were eliminated by Russia in the quarter-finals.

2.51pm - A wicket in the cricket! An Ashes update from Trent Bridge, where Shane Watson has been trapped LBW by Stuart Broad.

2.50pm - West Ham's substitutes are out on the pitch showing off their silky skills with a game of two-touch keepy-uppys. I'm not sure who the champion is, but Dan Potts is looking sharp!

1.50pm - The West Ham United starting XI and substitutes have been named. We hope to have the AFC Bournemouth line-up soon, which may include former Hammers centre-back Elliott Ward. The 28-year-old signed for the Cherries this summer following his release by Norwich City.

Good afternoon and welcome to the sun-baked Goldsands Stadium for today's Stephen Purches Testimonial between AFC Bournemouth and West Ham United.

Purches is a Hammers Academy graduate who has served Bournemouth for ten years across two spells. The 33-year-old spent two years as a professional at the Boleyn Ground before moving on to Bournemouth, and has also turned out for Leyton Orient in a career that has spanned across all three Football League divisions.

The Hammers have enjoyed a free-scoring start to pre-season, defeating Cork City 6-2 in their first match last Sunday, before goals from Ravel Morrison, Ricardo Vaz Te and Kevin Nolan handed them a 3-0 win at Conference South side Boreham Wood on Wednesday.

Bournemouth have already played three pre-season matches, losing 2-0 at Swiss side FC Zurich in their opener, before defeating local non-league sides Wimborne Town 2-1 and Christchurch 7-1.

Team news-wise, the Hammers will once again be without Andy Carroll (heel) and George McCartney (knee) as the pair continue to receive treatment on their injuries at the start of pre-season.

Sam Allardyce will name a similar squad to that which has appeared at Cork City and Boreham Wood, with his players continuing to build their fitness ahead of the new campaign. A 24-man squad will appear at the Goldsands Stadium, including one trialist in Netherlands international midfielder Orlando Engelaar.

The 33-year-old has been capped 14 times during a career that has seen him represent NAC Breda, Racing Genk, Twente, Schalke 04 and PSV.

Former Bournemouth favourites Darren Anderton and Steve Fletcher will also play a part in today's game, as will Stephen Purches' brother John, who helped Bournemouth to gain promotion to League One in 2003.

West Ham and Bournemouth have met on five occasions in competitive football, with the Hammers enjoying an undefeated record. West Ham have won three of those games, with the other two ending all-square.

The last meeting came back in October 1999 when Harry Redknapp's Hammers were paired with Bournemouth, who he had managed earlier in his career, in the third round of the League Cup. West Ham prevailed by a 2-0 margin, with Frank Lampard and Marc Keller notching in front of a 22,067 Boleyn Ground crowd.

Perhaps the most famous player to have represented both clubs is striker Jermain Defoe, who scored 19 goals in 30 appearances during an outstanding loan spell between October 2000 and May 2001.
