Final score - Sunderland 3-0 West Ham United

93 mins - Cole's attempted pass for Jarvis is overhit and flies away for a goal kick. He raises both arms in frustration. It's been that sort of day. Mignolet punts upfield and the final whistle is blown. Thanks for joining us.

92 mins - The game might be up today, but there is an FA Cup third-round replay to be played at Old Trafford on Wednesday. Tickets are available now at whufc.com

90 mins - Nolan has a wry smile on his face but he must be seething inside. The captain collects a cross from Demel at the far post but side-foots his shot wide of the far post from no more than seven or eight yards, We're going to have three added minutes.

88 mins - West Ham win a free-kick wide on their left. Jarvis takes it and Mignolet catches. At the next break in play, Sessegnon is replaced by McFadden.

85 mins - The new man nearly scores immediately, swapping passes with Wickham before sending his low right-foot shot a yard or two wide with Jaaskelainen beaten.

84 mins - Sunderland bring on new boy 'Diaye for Johnson.

83 mins - Mignolet is there again, denying Tomkins with his legs after the cross from Vaz Te had found the centre-back at the far post. It's not West Ham's day, but at least it's a short journey home...

80 mins - Cole and Vaz Te win headers before Cole finds Jarvis. His cross lands at the feet of Vaz Te beyond the far post. He has time to take a touch and shoot, bit Mignolet claws the ball away for a corner. Sunderland clear their lines from the flag kick.

78 mins - The game is up but West Ham are seeking a goal. Potts wins a corner. Before it can be taken, Fletcher is replaced by Connor Wickham. The corner is headed out for a throw.

76 mins - Nolan finds Jarvis and he crosses from the left. Vaz Te jumps and wins it but his effort floats harmlessly wide of the far post.

74 mins - GOAL! This has truly been a day to forget for West Ham. Sessegnon collects a pass and puts Potts on his backside with a trick before rolling the ball across the face of goal for McClean, who makes no mistake from an acute angle.

72 mins - Jarvis drives forward and gets to the byline before standing up the cross but Sunderland scramble the ball behind for a corner. Jarvis himself takes and the referee blows for an infringement by Nolan and the chance is gone.

69 mins - Reid is booked for a crude tackle on Sessegnon. No complaints from the defender. Larsson's free-kick is blocked by Vaz Te.

66 mins - After a delay, Jarvis crosses and the ball breaks out to Cole, but his shot is high and off-target. Goal kick.

65 mins - The second corner is also dangerous. Diarra meets the delivery first time but his shot is blocked and Sunderland clear. Finally some signs of life from the Hammers.

64 mins - Vaz Te's cross is cleared behind for a rare West Ham corner. Cole takes and the ball drops to Jarvis via Nolan's touch, but his shot is deflected wide.

63 mins - Fletcher thinks he has made the game safe as he races on to McClean's pass and clips a superb finish over Jaaskelainen, but the Scot had rightly been flagged offside.

62 mins - Finally some West Ham pressure with Demel, Cole and Vaz Te all involved down the right. Cole crosses and Mignolet makes the catch.

60 mins - Replays suggest McClean was offside before his double chance a few moments back.

59 mins - Tomkins is booked for a foul on Vaughan ouside the D. Larsson will fancy this, as will Johnson... So McClean takes it and Reid blocks with his head. He has the physio on but will be fine to continue. West Ham have used all three subs, remember.

58 mins - Sessegnon brings the ball forward and picks out a completely unmarked McClean. His shot is parried by Jaaskelainen straight back to the Irishman, whose second effort hits the post and flies away.

57 mins - A third and final change from Big Sam. Carlton Cole is replaced by debutant Chamakh.

56 mins - Sunderland creating all the chances. Larsson's cross is headed away by a stretching Tomkins. McClean collects and crosses for Fletcher, whose goalbound strike is blocked and held by Jaaskelainen.

54 mins - Vaz Te needs treatment after being caught in the eye. Meanwhile, today's attendance is 39,918. It's a big ground, is the Stadium of Light.

53 mins - Colback beats one man before winning a corner. Sunderland are full of confidence. A third goal would be curtains for the Hammers.

52 mins - It;s going from bad to worse as Vaughan catches Diarra in possession. He pulls down the Sunderland midfielder and is booked.

49 mins - West Ham have it all to do now, but Diarra cannot get his header on target from Joe Cole's right-wing cross. The ball lands on top of the net.

47 mins - GOAL! Awful. Sunderland break away following a West Ham free-kick into the box. Jaaskelainen looks to have done enough when he makes a save from McClean. Potts makes a the mistake of trying to chest back to the goalkeeper and Fletcher pokes the ball sideways for Johnson to finish from six yards.

46 mins - We're back underway as Sunderland kick-off. West Ham have made another change, with Collison being replaced by Ricardo Vaz Te. Can he inspire a comeback?

Half-time score - Sunderland 1-0 West Ham United

47 mins - Carlton Cole tries to clip a ball over the top for Jarvis. Mignolet comes rushing out and, with the angle against him, Jarvis cannot keep the ball in. Before the goal kick can be taken, Mr Swarbrick blows for half-time. The Hammers need to improve after the break.

47 mins - Another sweeping move and McClean holds the cross up. It clears Reid's head but the striker is thankfully offside. He heads over the top, as it is.

45 mins - Another home raid and this time Johnson's shot is blocked. It might have hit Diarra or maybe his team-mate Sessegnon. Sunderland would love a second before the break. We're going to have at least two added minutes.

43 mins - Sunderland are ending the half strongly. The ball is worked left to McClean, whose clean low strike is superbly held by Jaaskelainen. Either side of that effort, Tomkins made two superb sliding challenges to halt attacking moves. West Ham are creaking a bit under the pressure.

41 mins - After some messing about and Sessegnon joining the wall, Johnson curls over the free-kick and Bramble is offside before somehow missing the target from six yards.

40 mins - Potts is there again to head away a deep cross from Colback. However, when the ball is fed into Sessegnon, he is fouled by Diarra 30 yards from goal.

37 mins - It might not be going too well overall, but Potts and Reid have been solid as rocks so far. They don't deserve to be on the side losing this game. Considering Potts is up against Adam Johnson, he has hardly put a foot wrong.

34 mins - Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Collins, who has to be replaced. I think it's his right hamstring. He gestures to the bench and has to be helped off by the physio. James Tomkins replaces the Welshman. To be fair, a section of the home support clapped Collins off.

32 mins - It would be fair to say former Newcastle captain Nolan is not the most popular in these parts. He gets an ironic cheer and a song as he goes down after clearing the ball. Kevin has plenty of pride, however, and is quickly back on his feet.

30 mins - Joe Cole has been in the wars a bit in recent minutes, collecting a couple of fair whacks from Bramble and McClean as he battles for possession. At the other end, Reid is standing firm as the hosts seek a second goal.

26 mins - Chances at both ends. First, Joe Cole makes a yard and crosses, but O'Shea dives in bravely to head clear ahead of Carlton Cole. Sunderland break and Sessegnon ghosts past Collins but then drags his shot well wide from 18 yards with only Jaaskelainen to beat. Poor finish.

22 mins - Just to cheer me up even more, it is now raining...

20 mins - A first real sight of goal for West Ham. Diarra finds Demel by the right touchline. He beats Colback with a neat flick and crosses. The ball flicks off a defender and falls to Collison. His chest control is a bit loose so Jarvis takes over. He is forced slightly away from goal but gets his shot away. It is saved by Mignolet low to his left.

17 mins - Potts clips the ball forward and Bramble's header is not great. Nolan challenges for the ball in the air and is fouled 25 yards out by Vaughan. Collison curls the free-kick over - literally - and it's too high for everyone as it floats wide of the far post.

15 mins - It's not been great so far, I must confess. Still, West Ham came from behind last weekend and they can do it again. To do so, the midfield needs to start having a bit of possession because the Black Cats are bossing things in the middle of the park so far.

12 mins - GOAL! West Ham have hardly had a kick and now they are behind. Some patient build-up ends with a Johnson cross being headed out by Diarra straight to Larsson. He has plenty to do from 30 yards, but he does it, letting fly with a left-foot shot that arrows past Nolan and Jaaskelainen's right hand into the roof of the net.

11 mins - A cross comes over from the left from McClean and Potts has to head behind again. The third corner is cleared by Nolan, but Jarvis then commits a foul as he tries to hold play up. Sessegnon fires in the free-kick and Nolan volleys away.

9 mins - Fletcher is dangerous, He collects a loose header from Demel and beats two before his shot is deflected over by Reid. The Scot nearly gets to the first corner, which is put behind again by Collison. Carlton Cole and then Joe Cole clear but Sunderland come again...

8 mins - Sunderland have settled the quicker. They have Gardner and Colback in the full-back positions, with Johnson wide right and McClean wide left. Sessegnon is supporting Fletcher. For West Ham, Jarvis is wide left of Carlton Cole, with Joe Cole to the right.

5 mins - Another test for Potts as Johnson runs at him. Potts keeps his eye on the ball and stops the England winger on the edge of the box before clearing up the line. Good defending from the teenager.

3 mins - The first chances fall to Sunderland. Sessegnon pulls wide left and receives. He chops a couple of times and gets past Demel. The cross is stood up to the far post for Johnson, whose left-foot volley is blocked by Potts. The ball drops to Vaughan on the edge of the D, but his shot flashes a yard or two wide of the right-hand post.

1 min - A couple of half-chances within the opening 30 seconds for West Ham to fashion a shooting opportunity. First, a defender misses the long ball forward from Demel, but Nolan's cross is cut out. Then Carlton Cole tries lay off for Collison, but Sunderland again clear. Nervy start from the hosts.

2.58pm - Plenty of empty red seats here at the Stadium of Light, but Sunderland haven't been going too well this season. They have plenty of attacking threats, though, and West Ham will have to watch out for Fletcher, Johnson, Sessegnon and McClean, in particular. The Hammers will kick-off...

2.55pm - Here come the two teams...

2.50pm - One look at the Hammers teamsheet today and there is some real strength and depth in there. The return of Diame and the acquisition of Chamakh add yet more quality for Big Sam to pick from. With Andy Carroll also approaching a return and Wellington Paulista signed up, competition for places is really hotting up - unlike the weather here at the Stadium of Light. Just to remind you that a limited number of tickets remain on General Sale for Wednesday's FA Cup with Budweiser third-round replay at Manchester United. Full details can be found on the Ticket News page on whufc.com.

2.25pm - We have had confirmation from Big Sam that Mark Noble misses today's game with a slight calf injury.

2.05pm - The team news is in. West Ham make two changes from the starting XI that drew 2-2 with Manchester United in the FA Cup last weekend, with Winston Reid and Matt Jarvis replacing James Tomkins and Ricardo Vaz Te. Marouane Chamakh and the fit-again Mo Diame are on the bench. We will have information about Mark Noble's absence as soon as we have official news.

Sunderland: Mignolet, Gardner, O'Shea, Bramble, Colback, Larsson, Vaughan, McClean, Johnson, Sessegnon, Fletcher
Subs: Westwood, Bardsley, Kilgallon, 'Diaye, McFadden, Campbell, Wickham

West Ham United: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Collins, Reid, Potts, Diarra, Collison, Nolan, Jarvis, J.Cole, C.Cole

1.45pm - Hello and welcome to a cold Wearside for today's big game. We have published some images from the Hammers arriving at the Stadium of Light on the official Facebook page. The team news will be confirmed in 15 minutes and published first on our official twitter feed.

Good afternoon and welcome to the Stadium of Light for today's Barclays Premier League fixture between Sunderland and West Ham United.

West Ham arrive on Wearside for their third game of 2013 and their second in the Barclays Premier League. Sam Allardyce's side are unbeaten thus far this calendar year, having recorded a 2-1 Premier League win at home to Norwich City on New Year's Day and a thrilling 2-2 draw with Manchester United in the FA Cup with Budweiser third round last time out.

Sunderland, meanwhile, lost their previous two Barclays Premier League matches at home to Tottenham Hotspur and at Liverpool before coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup with Budweiser third round last Saturday.

Marouane Chamakh could be in line to make his Hammers' debut after signing on loan from Arsenal. The striker was registered too late to play against Manchester United, but fellow new boy Joe Cole did start and marked his second 'debut' with two assists. The Academy graduate is expected to now make his second Premier League 'debut' against the Black Cats.

Big Sam is expected to make a number of changes after a host of regular first-teamers missed the Manchester United game to help avoid fatigue. However, the likes of Dan Potts, James Tomkins and Alou Diarra will be hoping to keep their places for the Sunderland match after impressing against the Red Devils.

Winston Reid, Mark Noble, Matt Taylor, Matt Jarvis and Gary O'Neil will all be hoping to earn a recall after missing out on a start last Saturday. Joey O'Brien is still struggling with his hamstring injury and if he fails to recover, Potts is the most likely to step in.

Forward Modibo Maiga will definitely be missing after he travelled away to Mali for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in South Africa. Midfielder Mohamed Diame and England centre forward Andy Carroll are both near to a return to light training, leaving former Sunderland left-back George McCartney as the only long-term absentee.

The team news will be confirmed at 2pm and published first on the club's official twitter feed @whufc_official
