Final score - West Ham United 2-1 Norwich City

93 mins - A long throw into the box causes panic and bounces before eventually being hacked away. The crossfield ball finds Pilkington in space on the left corner of the box, but he drives the ball high and away for a goal kick. The final whistle is blown. Thank goodness! We'll have highlights and post-match reaction from today's game on whufc.com and West Ham TV, plus all the build-up ahead of Saturday's big FA Cup third round tie with Manchester United. Thanks for joining us.

93 mins - Into the final minute...

92 mins - An offside flag against a Canaries player means more precious seconds can tick off the clock. The ball is headed back into the West Ham half before Tomkins half-volleys it into the stand.

91 mins - Into the first of three added minutes and Maiga is denied by a last-ditch block. Cole runs to the corner flag but cannot keep the ball in. Goal kick.

90 mins - GOAL! He got two against Manchester City on Saturday and now Martin has another, smashing in a first-time shot from ten yards from a left-wing cross from Elliott Bennett. Game on?

89 mins - The attendance today is 35,005. A long throw is flicked on by a Norwich player but Reid makes a superb clearance to hack the ball out from inside his own box.

87 mins - Spence is normally a right or centre-back, but he's slotted in on the left side of midfield for the final few minutes. He is a good footballer, mind you.

85 mins - Tomkins heads a high free-kick away for a Norwich corner. It is cleared to Fox on the edge of the D, but his volley flies high and wide. Before the goal kick, Jarvis is replaced by Jordan Spence.

83 mins - Howson cannot continue. He is replaced by Fox. Noble's corner is a good one and Cole meets it, but his effort flies wide of the near post.

82 mins - Maiga is on for Vaz Te. The No12 put in a decent shift down the right and could have marked his return with a goal if his header had been a few inches to the right earlier. Jarvis wins a corner when his cross deflects high across the face of goal and behind.

81 mins - Maiga will be on fairly soon. Will it be Cole or Vaz Te? Norwich are playing with ten as Howson is sat on the touchline receiving treatment. He is soon back on again.

79 mins - Memories of Victor Obinna as Tettey ends a promising Norwich foray by blasting a shot that hits the SBOBET hoarding separating the upper and lower tiers of the Sir Trevor Brooking Stand.

77 mins - Vaz Te almost gets in behind on to Collison's lofted pass, but Turner gets across to prevent it and concede the throw. Time for West Ham to eat some clock.

76 mins - Norwich win a corner as the cross from the left is blocked behind by a sliding Reid. Cole heads the corner out, then completely slices the ball when the follow-up comes in! Luckily it leads to nothing more than a header wide and a goal kick.

73 mins - West Ham are just creaking a bit. First, Jaaskelainen gets his body behind a shot from range from Snodgrass and holds on. Next, a ball in is hacked away by Reid, then Demel is in the right place to head powerfully clear. The Norwich fans make a bit of noise.

71 mins - O'Brien is replaced by Gary O'Neil. Taylor to left-back. He must have a knock because the No17 was having a fine game.

70 mins - Simeon Jackson and Elliott Bennett are on for Kane and Hoolahan. The full-backs have swapped back again, so Martin is back on the right.

69 mins - A long throw and O'Brien heads behind at his near post for a corner. Snodgrass takes it and Turner heads high over the top under pressure from Tomkins. Norwich have swapped their full-backs, with Martin now at left-back.

67 mins - West Ham keep up the pressure and have at least three goes at getting into the box. The final one ends with Vaz Te's poked cross hitting some legs and bouncing away behind Jarvis before being cleared. I think Norwich are considering a change or two.

66 mins - Martin is penalised for handling a Cole cross. Taylor will fancy this one on his left foot. It's slightly wider than from where Snodgrass hit the post earlier. His shot hits the wall.

64 mins - Brilliant stuff again. Cole speeds away down the left before passing back for Taylor. He drives the cross to the far post, where Vaz Te outjumps Martin and heads back across the goal. The ball clips the outside of the post on its way wide. So close!

62 mins - Noble is back on and he collects a pass from Collison, spins and his shot is deflected wide for another corner. Taylor will take. Fantastic delivery but somehow the ball eludes Cole's head and bounces away for a goal kick on the far side. That flashed right across the face of goal.

59 mins - Snodgrass comes forward again in a central area but Noble tracks him well and makes a superb tackle. He twists his ankle making the challenge and needs the physio on.

56 mins - Demel is fouled. Tomkins lifts the ball in from halfway and Bassong can only glance the header high and behind for a corner. Taylor takes and Martin scrambles the ball behind at the near post. The second corner is deeper but Tomkins cannot direct his header on target on the stretch. Goal kick.

54 mins - Good interplay down the right sets Noble free into space, but his cross is headed out for a throw. West Ham try again but they just cannot work an opening down this side.

53 mins - Snodgrass is playing slightly more centrally and is starting to have an influence on the game. He is in a central position as he passes through for Pilkington but he is offside before shooting straight at Jaaskelainen.

51 mins - Oooh! Is that a penalty for Norwich? No! Hoolahan threads the pass through for Kane goalside of Tomkins. The on-loan Spurs man goes down, but Mr Clattenburg gives nothing after glancing at his assistant.

50 mins - Demel and Collison combine down the right but both choose to cut back instead of crossing. Eventually, Collison tries to win a corner off the defender, but he misses and the ball curls behind for a goal kick.

47 mins - Snodgrass runs at O'Brien and is fouled by the Irishman. The No7 has hurt his shoulder but will take the free-kick. Jaaskelainen punches the free-kick to safety but two Norwich players are flagged offside.

46 mins - That'll do. Vaz Te clips in a cross that is too high for Cole but Snodgrass puts it behind for a corner. A West Ham player wins the header but it's blocked and Norwich clear.

Here come the two teams. The sun is setting over east London on the first day of 2013. Can West Ham build on their first-half performance and start the New Year with a win? Play the same way they did before the break and they will.

Half-time score - West Ham United 2-0 Norwich City

47 mins - That is half-time and a very eventful and satisfying 45 minutes here at the Boleyn Ground. It could have all been different had Snodgrass scored instead of hitting the post, but West Ham have got better as the game has gone on and deservedly lead.

46 mins - We'll have at least two added minutes. Noble's pass is cut out and Tettey advances, but his shot hits O'Brien on the head before Noble wins a free-kick for handball by a Norwich player.

45 mins - West Ham are finishing strongly and they win another corner as Noble's shot takes a deflection on its way wide of the target. The corner is good and Norwich cannot clear their lines. Collison finds Jarvis with a backheel and his cross is to the far post for Vaz Te. He has space, but slices his volley wide. Good chance.

43 mins - A decent move ends with Taylor's cross being sliced behind by Turner. Taylor's first delivery is headed behind at the near post. The second ends with Vaz Te being penalised for backing into Bunn. Replaces show he did next to nothing, and Vaz complains about the decision.

41 mins - Elsewhere, the loanees are in action. Paul McCallum has netted his first league goal for AFC Wimbledon at Torquay United in npower League Two. Rob Hall and Ravel Morrison have both started for Birmingham City at home to Championship leaders Cardiff City.

39 mins - Cole would have surely put the game to bed if he had scored. Still, 2-0 is a decent position to be in and West Ham have played better and better as the half has gone on.

36 mins - Unbelievable miss from Cole! Noble picks out Demel's run with a superb pass through between Bennett and Bassong. Demel crosses low and hard and all Cole has to do is keep the ball under the crossbar to score. He doesn't.

31 mins - Jarvis runs at his man and wins a corner. It's taken short to Noble, who feeds Taylor. The No14 lets fly with a rasping shot that Bunn can only tip over. Another corner. Noble crosses and the referee blows for a foul by Collison, who appeared to have hold of his marker's shirt.

30 mins - West Ham needed that second goal for their own confidence, if nothing else. Tettey is back on after some running repairs. That was some goal, by the way. Five players involved and all on the ground. Brilliant stuff. The crowd cheered every replay on the big screen.

27 mins - Cole and Tettey went up for a high ball in the build-up to that goal. The Norwegian now has the physio on as he was down during the whole of that move.

26 mins - GOAL! It is 2-0 now! O'Brien! West Ham break down their left and it's a fantastic goal. Taylor into Jarvis, finds Noble, who turns and passes back to O'Brien. He plays the ball back to Noble, who runs into the box and crosses low for Cole. The striker lays the ball off and O'Brien tucks the shot inside the near post. Great move.

24 mins - How is that not 2-0! Demel's cross from the right drops into the six-yard box and the Norwich defenders get themselves into a pickle. The ball drops to Collison, but his stab from eight yards is too close to Bunn. Good save, but Collison arguably should have scored.

23 mins - O'Brien lifts a free-kick to the edge of the box where Tettey heads the ball high into the air. Vaz Te tries one of his special overhead kicks but gets more of Martin than the ball. Free-kick to Norwich.

22 mins - Wow! The cross comes in and Tomkins heads half away. Reid challenges with Bassong and there are appeals for handball against the No2. The ball drops to Pilkington and his first-time shot drifts just wide of the same post Snodgrass just rattled.

21 mins - Norwich have a free-kick 28 yards out after Collison is penalised for handball. Snodgrass steps up and curls a superb effort over the the wall and it thuds against the post! Tomkins clears the rebound from the edge of the six-yard box. Massive let-off for the Hammers.

19 mins - Thank goodness for Reid! Collison's short pass is cut out inside the centre circle and Norwich have four-on-two until the Kiwi sticks a big boot in and then wins a second challenge. West Ham actually break but Cole is penalised for a foul as he challenges for Jarvis's cross.

18 mins - Tomkins is caught by Kane after clearing. That was a bit late from the forward and he gets a talking-to from Mr Clattenburg.

16 mins - West Ham have taken confidence from that Cole chance. They are knocking the ball around inside the Norwich half and the visitors have to stand firm to clear crosses from Cole and Taylor. Pressure building...

13 mins - Cole looks better now. O'Brien lofts the ball down the left and Taylor heads on for Cole. He spins Turner superbly and makes his way to the edge of the D before letting fly. Unfortunately, although it is well hit, the shot is close enough for Bunn to move to his left and catch in front of his face. Good stuff from the Hammers.

12 mins - Cole is back on. By the way, that is Mark Noble's 14th consecutive successful penalty and 20 out of 22 converted overall. Meanwhile, Norwich are settling now and probably edging things in terms of possession at present. An early goal always opens a game up and this one is no different.

9 mins - Cole needs the physio on after he collides with Tettey while battling for a high ball. It looks like Cole's left knee that is the problem. He is up on his feet but not looking 100 per cent comfortable just yet.

7 mins - That nearly went wrong there! The ball rolls slowly towards the West Ham box and Reid and Tomkins leave it for each other and Hoolahan nearly nips in between the pair. Thankfully, the ball just reaches the penalty area and Jaaskelainen can claim low down.

6 mins - The initial free-kick is cleared by O'Brien but Norwich win it back and the cross comes in from the right from Martin. Tomkins rises between two yellow shirts to head clear superbly.

5 mins - Not much has happened since the goal, to be honest. West Ham are standing firm at the back as Norwich seek a way back into the game. Reid is then penalised for tripping Kane by the centre circle.

3 mins - GOAL! Noble makes no mistake! Bunn dives left and Noble smashes his shot high into the net on the other side. No chance for the goalkeeper and West Ham lead. What a fantastic start for the home side.

2 mins - Mark Noble will take this one in his bright yellow boots in front of the Sir Trevor Brooking Stand...

1 min - The kick-off is taken and the ball belted high and straight out for a throw. West Ham win the ball back and Cole is fouled. Jarvis collects the free-kick and wins a corner. It's cleared and then launched back into the box by Demel. Reid and Bennett jostle and Mr Clattenburg gives a penalty!

2.59pm - Norwich are going to have a huddle, so the home fans are filling the void by singing a bit of 'Bubbles'. Mark Noble is sporting some rather loud new boots. Bright yellow! Norwich to kick-off...

2.58pm - The two teams are out on the pitch. We're sold out again here at the Boleyn Ground, so let's hope the vast majority of the capacity crowd will be celebrating a Happy New Year!

2.55pm - The bubbles are flying across the pitch from the machines by the tunnel entrance, which means only one thing - the teams will be with us soon! Can West Ham start the year as they did last, when Coventry City were beaten here on 2 January 2012?

2.35pm - Steve Staunton handed Joey O'Brien his Republic of Ireland debut in his first game as manager of the national side against Sweden back in March 2006, when O'Brien was just 20. O'Brien makes his 50th West Ham appearance this afternoon and his former national team boss said he had no doubt the full-back had what it takes to make it at Premier League level. Staunton said: "Joey was unfortunate as a kid because he had great potential and it is just coming through now. He had a lot of injuries, bless him, but he was always a great lad and you could play him in four or five different positions and he would never let you down. He was just unfortunate with injuries but hopefully now he can get back to where he was and back in the Ireland squad."

2.25pm - I wouldn't mind seeing a free-kick competition between two of the lads in the Press Box today. Julian Dicks and Steve Staunton had two of the finest left-feet in the game during the 1990s and couldn't have give it a whack from range!

2.05pm - The teams have been announced. West Ham make three changes from the side that lost at Reading, with the suspended Collins and Nolan missing out and O'Neil dropping to the bench. Demel, Collison and Vaz Te come in. Elliot Lee is on the bench.

West Ham United: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Reid, Tomkins, O'Brien, Noble, Collison, Taylor, Jarvis, Vaz Te, Cole
Subs: Spiegel, Spence, Diarra, O'Neil, Lletget, Lee, Maiga

Norwich City: Bunn, Martin, Bassong, Turner, R.Bennett, Snodgrass, Howson, Tettey, Pilkington, Hoolahan, Kane
Subs: Rudd, Barnett, E.Bennett, Tierney, Fox, Smith, Jackson

1.30pm - Some squad news for you today. With the suspensions and injuries West Ham are dealing with, Development Squad striker Elliot Lee has been added to the matchday squad. Lee turned 18 in December and has been in fine goalscoring form for the club's Under-18s and Development Squad this season, including two in the Hammers' 3-1 FA Youth Cup third-round win at Aldershot Town. He is also the son of former West Ham and England midfielder Rob Lee and brother of former West Ham midfielder Olly Lee, who is now at Barnet. We will find out if he is on the bench in about half-an-hour!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to the Boleyn Ground as West Ham United kick-off 2013 by hosting Norwich City in the Barclays Premier League.

Both clubs will be hoping to get the new year off to the best possible start after struggling to collect points in recent matches. The Hammers have won just one of their previous eight league games, while Norwich are on a run of three consecutive defeats after their ten-game unbeaten run was ended by West Bromwich Albion on 22 December.

West Ham will leapfrog their visitors if they pick up all three points this afternoon. Norwich sit eleventh in the table on 25 points, while West Ham have 23 and also have a game in-hand on Chris Hughton's side after their Boxing Day trip to Arsenal was postponed.

Team news-wise, Sam Allardyce has a few selection headaches after both Kevin Nolan and James Collins were booked for the fifth time this season in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Reading and are serving one-match bans. Guy Demel and Jack Collison will be favourites to deputise, but Alou Diarra and Ricardo Vaz Te could also feature from the start after making recent returns from thigh and shoulder injuries respectively.

Ex-Hammers full-back Hughton also has selection problems with his two main strikers Grant Holt and Steve Morison both struggling with injuries. Ever-present midfielder Bradley Johnson is definitely out as he too is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season in Saturday's 4-3 home defeat by Manchester City.

The team news will be confirmed at 2pm and published first on the club's official twitter feed.
