91 mins - There will be four added minutes. They start with some handball claims as Taylor tries to get into the box, but nothing is given. The Saints try to break but Collins makes a vital interception.

90 mins - Into the final minute of normal time and the Hammers fans are singing their hearts out but Southampton are on the attack. Puncheon sees a shot blocked before fouling O'Neil.

87 mins - A diagonal free-kick floats over Pogatetz and O'Brien puts it out for a throw. Davis is caught offside as the cross comes in. Free-kick to the Hammers which Jaaskelainen will no doubt belt upfield.

85 mins - Former Portsmouth man Matt Taylor gets a nice welcome from the home fans as he replaces Vaz Te.

84 mins - Lambert's free-kick hits Carroll on the head and loops behind for a corner. It's taken short before Clyne crosses. The ball eludes Collins but O'Neil clears as far as Puncheon, who handles.

83 mins - Collins heads clear the Puncheon cross but Vaz Te then tries to volley clear and catches Fox high. This is right in Lambert's zone, 22-odd yards out. He will fancy this.

80 mins - Fox concedes a corner under pressure from Vaz Te. Meanwhile, Big Sam sends Paulista and Cole out to warm up. The corner is cleared as far as Demel, whose high ball in is cleared. Southampton break at pace and it is the big man Carroll who tracks back 80 yards to concede the corner. After some anxious moments, the header from Clyne lands safely in the hands of Jaaskelainen.

78 mins - Pogatetz fouls Rodriguez again, but this time it's a minor infringement. Ramirez curls the free-kick over but it's too high for Lambert. Goal kick. The Uruguayan is then replaced by Jason Puncheon.

77 mins - Rodriguez bursts past Pogatetz, who cannot afford to foul him after being booked. Collins clears as far as Collison, who lays the ball off and it is launched up to Carroll. His marker slips and No8 gets into the box with two defenders in pursuit. He shoots low and Boruc catches.

76 mins - Big Sam is prowling around his technical area like a... I'm not sure what like, but he's prowling. Ramirez has another shot, this time right-footed, but drags it low and wide.

73 mins - O'Brien loses the ball deep inside Saints territory and the hosts break at pace. Rodriguez takes on Pogatetz and the Austrian takes him out. Yellow card for the defender. Ramirez again. This time he launches the free-kick into the stand. He shoots from anywhere, does Ramirez.

72 mins - Lallana is replaced. He passes the captain's armband to Lambert and jogs off. Rodriguez is on.

71 mins - Carroll is back on, as is Schneiderlin. Southampton are going to bring on Jay Rodriguez, who scored in the 2-0 win at Reading last weekend.

69 mins - 2,470 West Ham fans are here today in the crowd of 31,984. The game is stopped by Mr Dean due to a clash of heads between Schneiderlin and Carroll on halfway. Both physios are on.

68 mins - O'Neil is penalised for fouling Clyne about 30 yards out. Ramirez curls it over the wall and the ball bounces inside the six-yard box and wide.

66 mins - GOAL! The ball is rolled sideways by O'Neil to Carroll and his low shot sneaks under the wall and beats Boruc low to the goalkeeper's left. The big man celebrates in hearty fashion in front of the travelling fans. Did that take a deflection? It may well have taken a slight one off Davis.

65 mins - After a Demel throw, some quick passing ends with Diame being fouled by Hooiveld about 22 yards out. Collins and O'Neil stand over it, but this would favour a left footer. Carroll maybe?

64 mins - Tomkins is hobbling off. Pogatetz replaces him. An enforced change is the last thing West Ham need at this stage.

62 mins - Southampton win a corner now. Ramirez crosses and Collins heads clear. The ball is worked back out to Ramirez, whose second ball in is headed out by Nolan.

61 mins - The Hammers try to respond immediately and win a corner. The ball comes to the far post, but Cork heads it clear after a superb flick on by Vaz Te. After a long scramble, Carroll plays the ball wide left. The cross comes over and again the home side stand firm. Frustrating.

59 mins - GOAL! The Saints take the lead. Tomkins' header clear is straight to Ramirez. He shoots and both Tomkins and Collins throw themselves at the ball. It squirms out into the path of Ramirez and he is in on goal. He takes a touch and roofs the ball high past Jaaskelainen. Slightly fortuitous, I must say, but a fine finish.

58 mins - I was wrong. It is Jarvis who is replaced by the No10. Vaz goes wide left and Jack to the right of the front three.

57 mins - Jack Collison will be on shortly. Presumably either Nolan or Diame will make way.

55 mins - Chance! O'Neil finds Vaz in space wide on the right. He cuts inside and shoots left-footed. The ball loops high into the air off a defender and is allowed to bounce up by Yoshida under pressure from Nolan. Carroll backs in and shoots on the turn with his right foot. The ball flashes a yard or two wide of the far post with Boruc a spectator. So close.

54 mins - You'll be delighted to know that the stadium big screen clock is now working again.

53 mins - It has been a very untidy start to the second half. Lots of poor touches and mis-placed passes so far. As I type, Clyne bursts into the box and crosses. Vaz clears only as far as Ramirez, who tries to wriggle through himself, but is challenged by O'Brien and the ball thuds into the advertising board. Goal kick.

51 mins - The clock is broken on the big screens. It will forever be 47:15... Until someone fixes it, at least!

49 mins - Schneiderlin strides forward down the middle before trying to find Lambert to his left. Demel gets a foot in and Collins then wins a goal kick off the Frenchman.

47 mins - There have been lots of stoppages and now we have another as Vaz barges into Lambert. The free-kick is taken short and comes to nothing. The weather is downright horrid here. It's cold, wet and windy.

46 mins - Southampton get the second period underway and Yoshida hoofs the ball forward. Demel wins the header and Tomkins shanks his clearance, but West Ham eventually win a throw on the far side.

The half-time whistle is blown as Jaaskelainen clears. It remains goalless. The home fans boo the officials off. They boo quite a lot here, I must say. Anyway, join us again in 15 minutes for the second half.

45 mins - Into the final minute of the half. Southampton scored at this time last season, so the Hammers will be desperate to avoid a repeat. We are going to have one added minute as Collins heads Lallana's cross clear. Ramirez then takes on O'Brien and crosses but Demel heads clear.

42 mins - Carroll then wins a free-kick from Ramirez. It's worked to Jarvis, who crosses. O'Brien challenges for the ball as it bounces and a few West Ham players appear for a penalty. It wasn't a spot-kick.

41 mins - Something Lallana has said has upset his opposite number Nolan. It all came about after Nolan had fouled Schneiderlin. Anyway, Ramirez has another go but this time his curling free-kick bounces wide for a goal kick. The home crowd are booing again. Eventually, Carroll is booked for dissent and the boos change to cheers.

40 mins - Carroll is penalised but plays on and puts the ball in the Saints net. Mr Dean calls him over for a chat, but keeps his cards in his pocket. More boos from the home fans.

38 mins - Diame is penalised this time about 35 yards out. Ramirez fancies a shot this time. He curls the ball over the wall but Jaaskelainen watches it into his arms. Replays show that was a magical stop by Jussi two minutes earlier. He scooped the ball back when it was halfway across the line. Inches from a Southampton goal.

36 mins - O'Neil fouls Lallana and, just as Mr Dean blows his whistle, Nolan leaves Cork on the turf. The home fans don't like it. Ramirez curls the free-kick to the far post, where Lambert slides in with the shot. It's going right into the bottom corner before a combination of Jaaskelainen and the post keep it out! Great save from the Finn. West Ham scramble the ball away.

34 mins - Superb interplay from the home side ends with Ramirez crossing low for Lallana. He controls, turns and shoots from about 16 yards, but Tomkins makes a fine block. The follow-up effort from Cork is deflected wide for a corner. The delivery is headed out as far as Ramirez, who cuts inside Diame and shoots, but O'Neil is out quickly to deflect the ball well wide for another corner. This one is also headed clear and West Ham win a throw when a Southampton player cannot control a pass.

33 mins - Potts, Paulista and Taylor are out warming up on the touchline.

30 mins - West Ham's best chance so far. Demel feeds Vaz, who drops his shoulder to get away from Fox. He streaks into the penalty area and pulls back for Nolan, who has cleverly held his run. The skipper shoots first-time, but his effort thuds into Hooiveld. West Ham regain possession with O'Brien. He finds Jarvis, but his ball inside for Nolan is too strong and Boruc collects.

29 mins - Vaz Te crosses low from the left. Nolan fancies getting on the end of it, but the ball skips through into the arms of Boruc. Southampton counter straight away down the centre through Schneiderlin, but the Hammers hold firm through Tomkins.

26 mins - Collins is penalised for impeding Lambert. The Welshman smiles. There didn't look to be much in that. The Lambert free-kick from miles out is blocked high into the air and behind by Carroll. O'Brien bravely heads clear under pressure by Yoshida. The Japan man is penalised. Free-kick to the Hammers.

25 mins - Fox is booked for a sliding challenge on Demel on halfway. The conditions didn't help the left-back there, as he slid for ages before and after catching the No20. He had to go for the ball, but he didn't get there. Second yellow card for the home side.

23 mins - A moment of mild panic for the home fans as Boruc comes out of his box to deal with a ball forward from O'Neil. O'Brien closes him down and forces the Pole to dribble around him before clearing.

20 mins - West Ham break out from the back down their right-hand side. Demel overlaps Vaz and wins a throw off Fox. West Ham work the ball over to the left, but Jarvis is denied an opportunity to cross by Clyne. The Southampton right-back is quick.

18 mins - An alarming moment as Diame loses out in midfield and Southampton break again. West Ham initially slow Clyne but Cock picks out Lallana with a neat lifted pass over Tomkins. The skipper's cross-shot flashes across the face of goal and Cork cannot quite get on the end of it. Demel did well to hold off the former Chelsea midfielder.

16 mins - The wind is really strong and gusty. At present, Southampton have the wind to their backs and West Ham's balls forward for Carroll are holding up, making it difficult for him to judge controlling or flicking the ball on.

14 mins - Nolan is caught in possession and Southampton attack down their right. Clyne finds Lallana, whose return ball is cut out by Demel and Collins clears for a throw. From it, Clyne takes on O'Neil and gets into the box using his pace, but Tomkins is there to repel the low cross.

11 mins - Two quick fouls on O'Brien from Ramirez. The home fans don't like it, but they were two clear free-kicks. From the second, Collins seeks out Carroll but the ball bounces out for a goal kick.

9 mins - Good spell for the Irons as Jarvis wins a corner off Clyne. It is headed clear at the far post and passed back to Demel on halfway. He sweeps the ball wide left for O'Neil and he controls well before passing inside for Vaz. The No12 looks up and shoots powerfully. It's a rasping effort from 30 yards that clears the crossbar amid 'Ooohs' from the travelling fans.

7 mins - West Ham come again and O'Brien combines with O'Neil to find Diame deep by the corner flag on the left. He drops his shoulder and crosses to the near post. Nolan reacts quickly to get in ahead of his marker. He then spins and curls a shot that Boruc holds onto at the second attempt diving low to his left. Good effort from the skipper.

6 mins - The free-kick is lifted to the edge of the box where it drops to Carroll. He pokes the ball forward and is caught by Fox. Free-kick about 25 yards out left of centre. Vaz Te and Collins stand over it. O'Neil lays it to Collins, whose shot hits Davis in the head and flies clear.

5 mins - Saints have made the better start. However, they aren't going to be too pleased to see Schneiderlin booked for a dive. He was at least a foot away from Nolan as he threw himself to the ground. Good decision by referee Mike Dean.

3 mins - Nolan heads the corner clear. Southampton collect on halfway and pass neatly outside the box on the slick surface, but the Hammers stand firm and Collison clears.

2 mins - Ramirez gets through onto a through ball from Lambert and looks to be in on goal. Tomkins gets back and makes a superb sliding challenge inside the box before Demel clears. Southampton come again and win a corner.

1 min - The Southampton fans have it in their heads that West Ham are a long ball team and chant 'Hoooof' as the ball is lofted forward by Tomkins. Pretty sure we didn't play much long ball stuff when we beat them 4-1 in October...

3pm - Oh, West Ham will kick-off after a bit of confusion.

2.58pm - West Ham will have to keep Lallana and Lambert quiet, while Gaston Ramirez has been in fine form. Southampton, meanwhile, will not fancy shackling in-form Andy Carroll, who has scored in each of his last three home appearances for West Ham. Now, Carroll will want to do it on the road! 2.53pm - Just before we get underway, I should tell you that the Hammers' youngsters lost 2-0 to Sunderland in Barclays U18 Premier League Tier One at Little Heath earlier. Two first-half goals put paid to Steve Potts' side's hopes. Let's hope his birthday boy son Dan has better fortune here this afternoon! The Hammers faithful are making plenty of noise away to my left. With only three away games left, including today, opportunities to belt out a few tunes are running out! Here come the teams...

While the Essex cricket team continue on their merry way up against Gloucestershire at Chelmsford, Hampshire's game with Leicestershire has been abandoned as a draw due to the rain. To brighten up our lives, Jack Collison is wearing some lovely luminous lime green boots. Very fetching.

2.40pm - The Hammers are warming up today in T-Shirts backing the Know The Score bowel cancer campaign. Know The Score is a football-based campaign that is being backed by several leading bowel cancer charities who want to raise awareness of key symptoms. These include the Bobby Moore Fund, the Adam Stansfield Foundation, Beating Bowel Cancer, Bowel Cancer UK , the Men's Health Forum and the founding charity of 'Know the Score', the Mr Brightside Project. A number of present and former players, including Martin Peters MBE, are also backing the campaign.

2.05pm - The team news is in. West Ham make one change to the side that drew 0-0 at Liverpool last weekend, with Andy Carroll replacing Carlton Cole. Wellington Paulista is also included on the substitutes' bench for the first time after scoring five goals for the Development Squad. Paulista is a Brazilian centre forward who joined the Hammers on a six-month loan from Cruzeiro in January. Dan Potts is also among the replacements on his 19th birthday. For Southampton, Jay Rodriguez and Jason Puncheon are on the bench after being laid low with a virus this week. Teenage full-back Luke Shaw has not recovered from illness and is not involved. Adam Lallana returns to captain the Saints, while Danny Fox comes in at left-back.

In today's matchday programme, Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino says West Ham will "pose an interesting challenge", although he does not go on to qualify that description. Suffice to say, the Hammers will be right up for this game after losing 1-0 at the same venue last season. Two former Portsmouth players set for warm receptions are Gary O'Neil and Matt Taylor. Good afternoon and a wet and windy Southampton for today's Barclays Premier League fixture between the Saints and the Hammers - the top-flight's first 40-pointer, if you like!

Today's match marks West Ham United's fourth away game in their last five league games. Fresh from Sunday's goalless draw at Liverpool, West Ham are on the hunt for a first away win against the Saints since a 3-2 success at The Dell back in November 2000.

This will be just the Hammers' fourth trip to St Mary's, with last season's visit ending in a 1-0 Championship reverse, courtesy of Jos Hooiveld's headed winner on the stroke of half-time.

Sam Allardyce's side are bidding to record their first double of the campaign, after running out 4-1 winners at the Boleyn Ground in October. Southampton, meanwhile, go in search of a fourth successive league win, following victories at home to Liverpool (3-1), Chelsea (2-1) and most recently away at Reading (2-0) last Saturday lunch-time.

The two sides are currently level on 37 points, though the Saints sit above the Hammers virtue of having a better goal difference by two goals.

Saturday's hosts have toppled Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool at St Mary's in recent weeks, though relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers were 2-1 victors on the south coast on 2 March.

Team news-wise, Sam Allardyce's attacking options are bolstered by the return of frontman Andy Carroll. The Liverpool loanee was ineligible to face his parent club in Sunday's goalless draw at Anfield and will likely battle it out with Carlton Cole for the lone striker berth. Big Sam will have to make do without Winston Reid (thigh), George McCartney (knee), Joe Cole (hamstring), Mark Noble (trapped nerve), all of whom are set to miss out.

The Saints could be without three players who have been struck by a virus. Luke Shaw, Jason Puncheon and Jay Rodriguez have all been laid low and face a battle to be fit.
