West Ham United Ladies continued their FA Women's Premier League Cup group-stage campaign with a thrilling 3-3 draw at National League side Watford on Sunday.
Becky Merritt gave the Hammers an early lead, but they found themselves behind going in at half-time as Watford responded with two goals of their own. Just like their opponents, West Ham responded well to going a goal down and Merritt got her second of the game to equalise soon after the break.
With 15 minutes to play Lindsey Morgan snuck in to put the Hammers into the lead but the drama was not over as Watford snatched a late equaliser to salvage a point.
Meanwhile, striker Kelley Blanchflower has undergone surgery to repair a broken collarbone. The 19-year-old was hurt when she fell awkwardly late on in the 2-0 FA Women's Premier League Southern Division win at Queens Park Rangers on 9 September.
She received treatment on the pitch but after scans revealed the break Blanchflower was admitted to hospital, where she underwent surgery. She has now returned home to begin her rehabilitation.
This Sunday, 29 September, the Ladies will host Gillingham in the league at Thurrock FC's Ship Lane, with kick-off at 2pm.
