Final score - West Ham United 4-1 Southampton

94 mins - Into what I think is the final minute and the Hammers have been very good since half-time. Whatever they ate at the break - or more likely whatever Big Sam said to his players - the hosts have been a different side during the second 45 minutes. Even when Southampton got one back, they refused to panic and thoroughly deserve their victory. It's Wigan away next weekend. The final whistle is blown and West Ham are, for now, up to seventh in the Barclays Premier League table. Thanks for joining us!

93 mins - Jarvis wins a corner this time. West Ham are in cruise control now. It's taken short and worked around the edge of the box before O'Neil crosses, Nolan cranes his neck and sends his head well wide of the post.

92 mins - Spence picks out Jarvis inside the box, but the winger's touch lets him down at the vital moment. The flag is up for offside, but replays show he was not beyond the last defender.

91 mins - We're into added time, but because I am down in the Press Room I'm afraid I can't tell you how much we're going to have! I think it might be four minutes.

89 mins - Ward-Prowse is on for Steven Davis for the final few moments.

87 mins - GOAL! Maiga with a cracker! The Mali man collects a header from Nolan before holding off Yoshida, cutting inside Fonte and curling a superb left-foot shot around Boruc and into the far corner of the net. Maiga punches his chest in celebration! What a fantastic first Barclays Premier League goal for the No11. Spence is on for Tomkins.

85 mins - Jaaskelainen is in the right place to catch a shot from Mayuka after the African striker had followed up after Collins had cleared Lallana's low cross. Reid and Jaaskelainen have a smile at the next break in play as Tomkins is treated for cramp.

84 mins - Reid and Jaaskelainen have a bit of a disagreement. Reid wants the goalkeeper to come and collect the ball inside the box, but with Mayuka threatening, the New Zealand man clears into the stand.

83 mins - Maiga is involved from a throw in that ends with Jarvis collecting and winning a corner off Clyne. The ball span high into the air, but Boruc could only catch behind the goal line.

82 mins - Modibo Maiga replaces Andy Carroll, who gets a good reception from the home fans on his way off.

81 mins - Schneiderlin is the second Southampton player booked for, shockingly enough, a foul on Carroll. The free-kick is lifted towards the box and drops to Jarvis, whose high cross is headed back into the danger zone. Collins cannot reach it, though. Goal kick.

80 mins - A nervous moment as Lambert collects a pass inside the box and shapes to shoot, but he is halted by the referee's whistle for offside.

78 mins - The ball is rolled to Noble, but his shot hits the wall and the Saints hack clear for a throw on halfway.

77 mins - Carroll is fouled AGAIN! This time Mr Swarbrick takes more serious action by booking Hooiveld. Free-kick for the Hammers about five yards outside the penalty area.

77 mins - Benayoun gets a cheer as he brings the ball away before bundling through one challenge and conceding a free-kick deep inside the Saints half. He has worked hard, has the Israeli, as he always does in a West Ham shirt.

74 mins - Nolan battles well to win a free-kick. It's taken quickly and Jarvis does well to win a corner.

72 mins - GOAL! He doesn't miss penalties, does he! Noble steps up nervelessly and sends Boruc the wrong way. He shoots low and to the goalkeeper's right, while Boruc dives to the left. West Ham get their two-goal cushion back.

71 mins - It's a penalty! Noble lifts the ball in for Carroll and Fonte clears with his arm from off the top of the striker's head. Noble will take the spot-kick.

70 mins - Lambert has his first effort. A header flashes wide following good work down the right involving Lallana and Davis. Moments later, Hooiveld fouls Carroll again. A chance for Noble to deliver a quality free-kick from around the same spot he scored earlier.

68 mins - Lambert takes the free-kick and curls the ball over the wall. It clips the outside of the net after it flies wide of the post. Diame is replaced by O'Neil.

67 mins - Gary O'Neil will be on shortly. Before then, Southampton will have a great set piece chance after Reid fouls Lallana about 20 yards out.

65 mins - West Ham have a chance to respond as Jarvis streaks away down the left. He has to check and finds Carroll. The striker looks up and assesses his options before seeing his shot charged down.

64 mins - Lambert is on for Rodriguez and Zambia striker Mayuka replaces Puncheon.

63 mins - GOAL! Lallana scores a goal out of nothing for Southampton. Rodriguez gets in behind Collins but the centre-back recovers initially. Rodriguez somehow finds Lallana inside the box, who has been left unmarked. He swivels and rifles a shot high into the net from 12 yards. Jaaskelainen could do nothing about it, but why did Lallana have so much space?

61 mins - Carroll is fouled again. I've lost count of the number of times he has been impeded this afternoon. This time Schneiderlin is the offender. Noble lifts the free-kick in for Nolan, who gets free, spins and works Boruc with a smart first-time effort that the Pole does well to parry.

59 mins - Surely Rickie Lambert will be on for Southampton soon?

56 mins - Yoshida has a chance to make amends for his mistake when he collects in space after Reid had flicked on a cross. The No3 takes a touch and leaves Tomkins on the turf, but allows Diame to close him down and block his shot. Jaaskelainen collects.

54 mins - Just a quick report from the npower Championship, where Stephen Henderson has made his Ipswich Town debut. The Tractor Boys are 1-0 up at Hull City. Ravel Morrison has also started for Birmingham City this afternoon and they lead Leicester City 1-0 at St Andrews.

51 mins - Noble has jarred his knee making a challenge and needs the physio on. After some running repairs, the No16 is back in the action.

50 mins - That double salvo will surely have taken the wind right out of Southampton's sails. Meanwhile, West Ham have recovered from a lethargic first half and burst out of the blocks.

48 mins - GOAL! NOLAN! Benayoun does well to beat Yoshida to a bouncing ball. He is in behind the left-back and has time to run into the box, look up and pick out the skipper, who beats the offside trap to net at the far post. What a start to the second half! That's Nolan's fourth of the season.

45 mins and 57 seconds - GOAL! Noble lifts the free-kick and Collins goes in to challenge. The ball bounces and Boruc is wrong-footed by the Wales centre-back's run, allowing it to nestle into the far corner. West Ham lead! Noble's goal, despite

46 mins - Southampton kick-off but West Ham quickly regain possession and Carroll is fouled midway inside the Southampton half.

Half-time score - West Ham United 0-0 Southampton

47 mins - A rather forgettable first half is brought to a close.

46 mins - Into the one added minute and Carroll goes down following an aerial challenge with Fonte. He claims he was elbowed, but nothing is given by the referee. The big No8 doesn't need treatment.

45 mins - Noble's cross is headed down by Carroll towards Benayoun and strikes Hooiveld. The crowd and some home players want a penalty, but the defender and the referee agree that it hit the former's chest.

42 mins - Collins' loose clearance falls to a Southampton player and Yoshida takes on Nolan. The captain stands up and forces the Japan full-back to run the ball out for a goal kick. Decent defending by the skipper.

40 mins - Noble's corner lands on top of the net. Not one of his best, I'm afraid.

39 mins - Diame collects a Jarvis pass and wins a corner. Noble delivers and the ball skims off Collins' head and wide. The referee awards another corner!

38 mins - Jarvis does well to control Nolan's drilled pass before he is brought down as he beats Clyne. Free-kick. Tomkins is back on. Noble crosses and the ball is headed clear from inside the six-yard box for a throw.

37 mins - Tomkins has received some treatment and is now back up on his feet on the touchline. It would be Spence or Chambers who would replace him.

35 mins - Tomkins goes down with nobody near him as he plays the ball back to Jaaskelainen. It looks like a left knee injury and he has the physio on.

34 mins - Southampton keep possession well down their left before Do Prado collects on the touchline. He decides to cut inside and shoots. It's another awful effort and the ball dribbles well wide.

32 mins - Yoshida decides to try his luck from 30 yards. His shot clears the crossbar by about 20 yards. Jaaskelainen then punts the ball into the crowd. It's not been a classic.

30 mins - Diame is crowded out in midfield. Typical! Southampton then win another free-kick inside the Hammers half but Collins heads clear and West Ham push the Saints all the way back to Boruc. When the goalkeeper clears, Diame is fouled as he challenges for the header. Noble's free-kick is clipped in for Carroll, but he loses out.

28 mins - After the thrills and spills of the Arsenal game a fortnight ago, this has been largely underwhelming so far. Diame has probably been West Ham's standout performer so far and he is urging his team-mates on.

25 mins - Collins is penalised for a foul on Rodriguez about 30 yards out. Puncheon and Rodriguez are standing over the set piece before the No9 shoots and punts his effort miles over the top.

21 mins - Rodriguez gets the better of Tomkins on the edge of the box before turning and poking a volley that bounces just wide of the post with Jaaskelainen a spectator.

19 mins - McCartney, Diame and Jarvis combine from a throw to win a corner. Noble will take it. He curls it deep and Boruc makes a decent claim above his head at the far post.

17 mins - The initial free-kick is cleared but only as far as Noble. He finds Jarvis, who drops his shoulder and crosses dangerously again. The ball flicks off a head and bounces towards Tomkins, whose own header is nodded away from inside the six-yard box.

16 mins - Better. Diame gets a foot in to win the ball back and find Jarvis. He tries to run Schneiderlin, but the No4 gets in a sliding challenge to concede the throw. Moments later, the Frenchman concedes a foul by losing the ball to Nolan and then pulling back his opposite number.

14 mins - West Ham win a throw deep inside Southampton territory. It is hurled in long for Carroll to challenge, but the visitors clear their lines again. Nigel Adkins' side have definitely made the more assured start.

12 mins - McCartney blocks a cross and the ball flies high behind for another Saints corner. Puncheon curls the ball over to the far post and Hooiveld wins the header, but it bounces safely into the hands of Jaaskelainen.

8 mins - West Ham attack down their right through Noble and Benayoun. Nolan looks to be bundled over but play goes on. Moments later, Benayoun drops his shoulder in typical fashion and drives in a low cross, but it's cleared.

7 mins - McCartney doesn't clear properly with his right foot and is then forced to concede another corner. Puncheon to take again left-footed. Carroll heads powerfully clear but the ball comes straight back to Do Prado wide left. He mis-controls and the ball rolls away for a goal kick.

5 mins - Chance for Carroll! Boruc hacks his clearance straight to the No8 about 25 yards out. He controls but sees his shot charged down by Hooiveld. He may have been better served hitting that first-time?

4 mins - Puncheon's corner is low but it's not a mis-hit. The ball rolls through two pairs of legs and Tomkins just gets his toe to it before Jarvis can bring it away. That was a heart in the mouth moment!

3 mins - Referee Mr Swarbrick blows his whistle for a foul by Reid. It appeared he got to the ball first. Anyway, the free-kick is swung in and flicked on and McCartney takes the safe option by heading over his own crossbar for a corner. Puncheon to take...

2 mins - Jarvis whips a cross in from the left but it's too high for Carroll and headed away at the far post by Yoshida.

3pm - The ball is passed back to Collins, but his punt for Carroll is too strong and the striker can only head out for a throw.

2.58pm - The two sides are led out by captains Kevin Nolan and Adam Lallana into a full Boleyn Ground. The atmosphere is very good, as you would expect. Southampton want to have a team huddle before kick-off. The Hammes will kick-off...

2.55pm - The teams are in the tunnel.

2.35pm - Leo Chambers turned 17 in on 5 August. Should he get on today, he would become West Ham's third youngest-ever Premier League player behind Neil Finn and Joe Cole. Chambers is 17 years and 76 days old.

2.30pm - Matthias Fanimo was the odd man out in the 19-man squad for today's game but he is also out warming-up with the other substitutes.

2.25pm - A couple of less familiar names on the teamsheet this afternoon. Raphael Spiegel is a Switzerland Under-20 goalkeeper signed from Grasshopper Club Zurich in the summer. Spiegel has been a regular starter for the Development Squad so far this season, helping Ian Hendon's side to top the Group 1 table at present. Leo Chambers is an England Under-18 defender comfortable at right-back or centre-back. He too has been a regular for the Development Squad this term.

2.05pm - Team news is in! James Tomkins replaces Guy Demel at right-back, but Winston Reid is fit to play. Yossi Benayoun makes his first start since returning to the club on loan from Chelsea, replacing dislocated shoulder victim Ricardo Vaz Te. For Southampton, leading scorer Rickie Lambert is on the bench, while Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc makes his Saints debut.

West Ham United: Jaaskelainen, Tomkins, Reid, Collins, McCartney, Noble, Nolan, Diame, Benayoun, Jarvis, Carroll
Subs: Spiegel, Chambers, Spence, O'Neil, Maiga, Cole, Hall

Southampton: Boruc, Clyne, Yoshida, Hooiveld, Fonte, Schneiderlin, Davis, Lallana, Puncheon, Do Prado, Rodriguez
Subs: Davis, Seaborne, Mayuka, Reeves, Ward-Prowse, Chaplow, Lambert

Good afternoon and welcome to the Boleyn Ground for today's Barclays Premier League fixture between West Ham United and Southampton.

Today, the Hammers will be supporting the Kick It Out Week of Action anti-racism campaign. The players and staff will be backing the cause by wearing Kick It Out t-shirts and badges, while James Tomkins recently attended a workshop with young people in the local community urging social inclusion.

The Hammers begin the day eighth in the table, while their newly-promoted opponents sit 17th going into the weekend's round of matches. Last season, of course, Southampton took four points out of six from the Hammers en route to finishing second in the npower Championship table.

Sam Allardyce's side will be hopeful of getting one over Nigel Adkins' men this afternoon, as the Saints have conceded more goals (20) than any team in the top-flight. Southampton have scored 12 times to West Ham's eight, however.

West Ham's most-recent victory over Southampton occurred exactly eleven years ago on 20 October 2001, when Frederic Kanoute scored both goals in a 2-0 home Premier League win. Since then, the Hammers have failed to win the last five matches between the two sides.

Team news-wise, the Hammers will be without Ricardo Vaz Te, who underwent surgery on Monday on the shoulder dislocated against Arsenal a fortnight ago. Guy Demel (leg) and Winston Reid (back) are both facing races to be fit after being forced to miss out on international duty for Ivory Coast and New Zealand respectively. Joey O'Brien and James Tomkins are standing by to come in, if required, but Alou Diarra (thigh) and Jack Collison (knee) are definitely out.

Southampton will have to make do without full-backs Danny Butterfield and Frazer Richardson, midfielders Jack Cork, Gaston Ramirez and Japan striker Tadanari Lee.

The teams will be confirmed at 2pm and posted first on the club's official twitter feed.
