Under-18s edge thriller

West Ham United Under-18s showed their commitment to the cause as they ran out 3-2 winners at Norwich City on Saturday.

Nick Haycock's side started strongly and went into half-time with a 3-0 lead and, while the Canaries pulled two goals back in the second half, the Hammers held on to grab a valuable win.

Taylor Miles notched the first strike for West Ham and a mistake from Norwich allowed Nana Boakye Yiadom to grab the second for Hammers. A corner kick resulted in West Ham's third goal before the break as Manny Onariase put the away side into a commanding lead.

The second half saw pressure from Norwich as they looked to get back into the game and the home side's efforts paid off when Craig Norman pulled a goal back for the Canaries.

Carlton Morris added to Norwich's tally with their second but the Hammers were unlucky not have gone further ahead, when a penalty was saved by Norwich keeper Remi Matthews.

The Hammers held out though to bounce back after the previous week's defeat to Arsenal and will look ahead to this Saturday' home clash with Blackburn Rovers with confidence.
