Poppy shirts up for auction

Special West Ham United shirts worn to mark Remembrance Day have been put up for auction to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.

The 14 Macron home shirts are each embroidered with a poppy motif and signed by the player who wore them. Worn by Hammers stars during the Barclays Premier League fixtures with Manchester City and Newcastle United at the start of November, the shirts are currently attracting plenty of interest on online martketplace ebay.

The shirts worn by England striker Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan have proved to be the most popular so far, with bids being made in excess of £500 for each. All of the proceeds from the sale of the shirts will support the Royal British Legion.
