Share your memories of Ernie

Legendary West Ham United goalkeeper Ernie Gregory sadly passed away on Saturday and the club would like to offer fans the chance to share their memories and messages of support on the Hammers official twitter feed.

Ernie died on Saturday at the age of 90 but will always be remembered fondly by fans in claret and blue having played for the club for 20 years before becoming a coach at Chadwell Heath until his retirement at the age of 65.

Joint-Chairman David Gold has already shared his memories of the Stratford-born stopper, saying: "Ernie Gregory was one of the all-time great servants of West Ham United. I remember watching him as a ten or eleven year-old boy and he became my goalkeeping hero growing up. He represented us for 20 years as a player and a further 30 years as a coach, which is something that is almost unheard of in today's game."

To share your memories of Ernie, tweet at the club's official Twitter feed whufc_official using the #ernie. The best messages will be used on whufc.com and in the matchday programme.
