Final score - West Ham United 2-1 Nottingham Forest

94 mins - It doesn't matter. the ball is kicked-off and into the Forest half and the final whistle is blown. West Ham are top of the npower Championship! Results elsewhere mean the Hammers are three points ahead of Southampton, four ahead of Cardiff and eight clear of Middlesbrough and Hull. Stay tuned to West Ham TV for exclusive post-match reaction and highlights, as well as an exclusive interview with James Tomkins about his new long-term contract.

93 mins - GOAL! Maybe they aren't. Lewis McGugan lets fly from about 30 yards and the ball rips past Green and high into the net.

92 mins - West Ham are playing out time comfortably here. They win a throw deep in Forest territory before Faubert crosses. It's not one of his best! The ball flies high and behind for a goal kick.

90 mins - James Tomkins is voted Man of the Match. That's a good shout. He's been imperious. We're going to have at least three added minutes. The home fans are singing 'We are top of the league!' and well they might!

89 mins - Cardiff beat Portsmouth with a 92nd-minute winner! You can't have everything, I suppose. Back here, Hall breaks forward at pace and finds Faubert. He crosses and the ball is headed out for a throw. Piquionne then wins a corner. The cross comes in and is cleared behind again after Cole had challenged for the header.

88 mins - The corner is passed to Lansbury, then Hall, then Faubert, whose low shot hits Piquionne and is cleared upfield. Forest break and now they win a corner themselves.

86 mins - Hall takes the free-kick himself and it is deflected just over. His first corner is blocked behind. The second is passed to Hall by Noble and his deep cross is headed behind again.

85 mins - Hall loses his marker and is taken out by a Forest player. Gunter is booked for the challenge. Before the free-kick is taken, Cole is replaced by Piquionne.

83 mins - Hall and Lansbury combine well at pace before the ball is worked into the stride of McCartney. He gets into the box before going down as he crosses. No penalty this time.

81 mins - Faubert crosses from the right and Cole wins the header. It bounces wide of the far post.

79 mins - Elsewhere, Cardiff are drawing 2-2 with Portsmouth and Coventry are beating Middlesbrough 3-1. Back here, Rob Hall comes on for Baldock for his home debut.

76 mins - Forest are awarded a controversial corner - West Ham thought it had come off a Forest head. McGugan crosses and Morgan heads down, but Green is there to make the save before he is fouled.

74 mins - Winston Reid does well again, winning a header and then a free-kick. The ball goes forward and Cole wins the flick and finds Baldock. His shot is saved by Camp and then Collison slices wide of the open goal. It's head in hands time for the No10.

73 mins - Harewood is replaced by Ishmael Miller. He gets a decent send-off from the home fans and claps them in appreciation.

70 mins - Faubert crosses and Cole literally volleys back over the Frenchman's head for a throw. That shot was at least 30 yards off-target. The crowd today is 31,718.

68 mins - Apologies for the lack of updates. We've had some technical issues with the internet connection! Noble comes within a yard of a hat-trick, winning the ball 20 yards out and driving a low shot wide of the left-hand post.

63 mins - GOAL! Noble scores again! This time he elects for accuracy rather than power, slotting the ball into the bottom right-hand corner. Camp dives the wrong way and it's 2-0!

62 mins - West Ham have another penalty. Again it is for handball, this time against Gunter.

60 mins - Camp makes a superb save to flick the ball over the top as Lansbury rifles a half-volley in from 12 yards. The corner is only just hacked away after some pinball inside the Forest box.

59 mins - Collison! Baldock does brilliantly to beat one man and poke the ball inside for the No10. He drops his shoulder and nobody seems to want to tackle the Welshman. He is allowed to slalom all the way to about ten yards out before shooting and the ball is deflected just over the top. The corner eludes McCartney.

56 mins - Blackstock is on for Greening, but not before Green produces a superb save to deny Gunter, who had been inadvertantly set up by a Nolan sliding tackle.

53 mins - A corner comes over from the Forest right and Tudgay wins it, but his header loops on to the top of the net.

48 mins - Tomkins does well again to sweep up the danger in front of Tudgay. He is having a decent game, is the No5.

46 mins - It's 4.12pm as we kick-off the second half. It looks like McGugan is now playing wide right for Forest and Anderson has gone over to the left.

Today's Matchball Sponsors are Hi-Force Hydraulic Tools. West Ham won't need a lift in the second half after Noble's goal, but Big Sam will want his team to push on after the break.

Half-time score - West Ham United 0-1 Nottingham Forest

48 mins - GOAL! Noble blasts the penalty high and although Camp gets a touch, he cannot keep it out! Noble's fifth goal and fifth successful penalty of the season. Literally 20 seconds after the re-start, the half-time whistle is blown.

47 mins - West Ham have a penalty! The corner was deep and headed clear but Lansbury did well to hook the ball wide to Baldock. His cut-back finds Collison, whose cross hits the hand of Guy Moussi. The assistant referee flags and the referee gives the spot-kick.

45 mins - Diop is replaced by Henri Lansbury. We are going to have two minutes of added-time.

42 mins - Diop will have to go off. His hamstring goes as he brings the ball out of defence.

40 mins - Collison wins two corners in quick succession. Both are easily cleared from around the penalty spot. West Ham pick up possession again and Faubert crosses way beyond the far post and out for a goal kick.

37 mins - West Ham on top now. Cole does well against two defenders and the ball drops into the path of Collison. He chests in front of him before lashing a volley that Camp can only push aside for a corner. Collison delivers but the ball is too deep and Forest clear again.

36 mins - Noble and McCartney manufacture and opening before the left-back crosses and Morgan heads behind. Noble delivers and Tomkins goes to ground, but again there is no spot-kick for the hosts.

34 mins - Collison drives forward and crosses into the box. Cole tries to control on his chest but he is crowded out. The No9 wants a penalty for a hold by Morgan, but nothing is doing.

31 mins - Faubert again! This time at the defensive end as he makes a superb last-ditch tackle to stop McGugan from putting away Anderson's cross. So close to an opener for the visitors. Moments later, Harewood gets in and tries to finish from the edge of the six-yard box, but Tomkins slides in and Green collects.

29 mins - Faubert involved again. He does well to get in behind once but his cross is headed clear. Noble works the ball to Collison before Cole uses his strength to find Faubert again. He takes a touch and pulls the ball back for Collison, who dummies for Noble. The No16 shoots, but doesn't get a decent contact and the ball dribbles wide.

27 mins - Faubert collects a pass from Tomkins and checks on to his left foot. His cross is deep and clears McCleary but Nolan is wrong-footed slightly and cannot control. Goal kick.

25 mins - Gunter has come to left-back and McCleary to right-back. Anderson is on the right side of midfield.

23 mins - The corner is cleared to Baldock and he wins another corner. Cole wins the delivery but heads wide of the far post. Forest use the break in play to make a change as Cunningham is replaced by Paul Anderson.

21 mins - West Ham attack down their left and Baldock does well to hold up play for McCartney. He crosses and Lynch does well to head clear in front of Cole. West Ham keep up the pressure and Faubert crosses from the other flank. Collison's volley hits a defender and goes behind for a corner.

19 mins - West Ham need to wake up. Gunter starts an attack and the cross comes in from McCleary to Tudgay. He shoots first-time and the ball deflects off a defender and just wide. The corner is cleared for a throw on the near side.

17 mins - Faubert's diagonal pass finds Nolan wide on the left. He flicks the ball back to Noble, who cuts on to his right foot and crosses, but the ball is slightly behind Cole and the visitors clear.

16 mins - Faubert has another chance to cross from Tomkins' pass, but his touch lets him down and he fouls Cunningham. Free-kick to Forest.

14 mins - A Forest clearance lands on the top of the East Stand and gets stuck in the gutter. After about 30 seconds of bouncing and rolling, the ball finally comes to a rest at the Bobby Moore Stand end of the East Stand roof!

13 mins - West Ham need to tighten up. McCleary crosses and the ball is allowed to roll all the way across to McGugan. He shoots left-footed and hits it well, but the curling shot just clears the crossbar.

12 mins - Unlucky! Cole turns away from his marker and finds McCartney in space. He smashes the cross into the box and it just eludes both Nolan and a sliding Baldock. Goal kick. Forest break from the restart and win their second corner. McGugan takes and Green punches powerfully clear for a throw.

9 mins - Gunter gets in behind and crosses. McCartney puts the ball out for a corner. From the corner, Tudgay should hit the target as he gets away from his marker to the low delivery but smashes his shot over the top from 14 yards. That was a good chance.

8 mins - One challenge and Cole is in the book. He merely won a header against the smaller Cunningham. The full-back went to ground and stayed there. The referee shows the yellow card.

5 mins - Fantastic diagonal pass from Noble over the head of Greening to Faubert. He controls on his chest superbly and is inside the box. However, he delays his cross just too long and it's blocked.

4 mins - West Ham's first attack and a ball for Baldock to chase. Morgan does well initially before putting Camp under a bit of pressure with his back-pass. The goalkeeper clears to Collison and the Hammers remain on the offensive.

3 mins - To be fair to the away side, they have settled quickly and are knocking the ball around confidently enough. McCartney gets a foot in and concedes a throw. He then gets the ball again and wins a throw himself off McCleary.

2 mins - I must say, Forest have brought a decent following when you consider how lean their season has been so far. They have witnessed four away league wins, though, so West Ham must be on their guard.

38 seconds - Forest haven't scored many goals recently and that might be why. McCleary has the ball on the right edge of the penalty area and simply belts it high and way wide of the target. I'm not sure if that was a shot or a cross.

3.05pm - We're under way...

3.04pm - Kriss Akabusi is back on the microphone to get the crowd going ahead of kick-off. He is one amazing individual! Anyway, Forest will kick-off.

3.01pm - After a slight delay, the two teams emerge from the tunnel. Forest are in their change kit of black with green flashes. West Ham are in claret and blue shirts, white shorts and white socks. The announcement is made that James Tomkins has signed a new long-term contract and the home fans absolutely love it. The man himself responds by applauding the fans. He's a home-grown hero is our No5.

2.57pm - West Ham United can announce that James Tomkins has signed a new contract until summer 2016. Full story and reaction to follow shortly on http://www.whufc.com

2.51pm - Kriss Akabusi gets a massive reception as he finishes reading out the substitutes. Hammerhead has a hard act to follow as the mascot emerges from the tunnel. Hammerhead is clearly keen to impress as he heads around the pitch and shows off a few moves in front of the Forest fans.

2.49pm - Akabusi is now announcing the West Ham United team as only he can! I'd love to know where he gets his energy from!

2.47pm - Kriss Akabusi is doing his thing on the microphone. Believe it or not, he is now 53. It only seems like yesterday that he was bounding around the track at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. That was nearly 20 years ago...

2.45pm - Just 15 minutes until kick-off and three-time Olympic medalist and Hammers fan Kriss Akabusi is here today. Now a motivational speaker and broadcaster, Akabusi is getting the crowd geed-up before the game starts. Not made it today's game? If you can't wait to get back to the Boleyn, then tickets and corporate hospitality packages are on sale for the top-of-the-table clash with Southampton on Valentine's Day. What better way to treat your loved one!

2.05pm - The teams are in and Sam Allardyce has made one change to the team that won 1-0 at Portsmouth. Joey O' Brien has picked up a knock so Julien Faubert drops into defence with Sam Baldock called into the starting XI.

West Ham United: Green, Faubert, Tomkins, Reid, McCartney, Diop, Noble, Collison. Nolan, Cole, Baldock
Subs: Faye, Lansbury. Hall, Carew, Piquionne

1.50pm - The Under-18s have suffered their first defeat of 2012, going down to a 2-1 FA Premier Academy League defeat at Crystal Palace. Kieran Sadlier scored the Hammers' goal - his ninth of the season - but it was not enough.

1.40pm - As you may have read in the newspaper, the players will be wearing T-shirts this afternoon with a message of support for Under-18s striker Dylan Tombides. The Australia U17 international is currently receiving treatment after being diagnosed with testicular cancer last summer. Tombides has thanked his club-mates and supporters for the hundreds of messages he has received. An interview with the teenager will appear on whufc.com later today.

Good afternoon and welcome to the Boleyn Ground for today's npower Championship fixture between West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.

The Hammers go into the game knowing a draw will be enough to take them top of the table, with leaders Southampton not playing again until their Monday evening meeting with Leicester City at St Mary's.

For those of you live within an hour or so of the Boleyn Ground, there is still time to get down and cheer the lads on in person. The Alpari Stand and Trinity Road Ticket Offices will be open until kick-off, while cash turnstiles are also open. With tickets being free for Youth Academy members, there is sure to be a bumper crowd and a cracking atmosphere inside the stadium.

Today's game could be a memorable one for Robert Green as he seeks his third consecutive clean sheet on what is his 200th league appearance in Claret and Blue. James Tomkins, meanwhile, will be playing his 100th senior club match if he is involved today. Finally, George John is in the 20-man matchday squad for the first time after joining on a two-month loan from MLS club FC Dallas.

Nottingham Forest arrive in east London in 22nd place in the table and staring at the possibility of being relegated to the third tier for the second time in eight seasons. The two-times European Cup winners have scored just 21 goals and collected just 21 points from 26 league matches played. The Tricky Trees were also dumped out of the FA Cup on Wednesday, losing 4-0 at Leicester City in a third-round replay.

Forest are enduring a terrible run of form in front of goal, having failed to score in nine of their previous ten matches in all competitions - eight of which have come in the npower Championship. However, Steve Cotterill's side hit the net three times when they did manage to score, winning 3-1 at Ipswich Town on 2 January.

The team news will be announced at 2pm and posted first on the club's official twitter page.
