West Ham United Under-18s finished sixth at the Yale Eurofoot pre-season tournament in Belgium after losing 3-0 to Dutch side Utrecht in a fifth-place play-off.
The Hammers narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals in Oostduinkerke, finishing third in their group on goal difference.
That sent Nick Haycock's side into a fifth-place play-off with Utrecht, but unfortunately two goals from Romano van der Stoep and one from Gyrano Kerk meant West Ham had to settle for sixth.
Earlier in the weekend, Elliot Lee had scored four goals and Jamie Harney and Kieran Bywater (pictured) one apiece as the Hammers defeated Cercle Brugge, AA Gent and Hajduk Split to finish third in Group A behind Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and Split. Meanwhile, Anderlecht finished bottom of the table.
Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense won the tournament overall, finishing top of Group B before defeating Split and Nordsjaelland to lift the trophy.
