West Ham United Ladies produced their most impressive peformance of the season to emerge 2-1 victors at top of the table Portsmouth.
Kelley Blanchflower continued her goalscoring run with a goal just before the half hour mark to put the Hammers ahead before adding a second ten minutes into the second spell to double the visitors lead.
Portsmouth, who were previously unbeaten in the league, replied with a goal of their own to reducee the arrears in somewhat odd circumstances as the ball appeared to already be over the line follwing a corner. Nevertheless, the referee pointed to the spot for a handball infringement although there was to be no let off for the visitors as the spot-kick was duly dispatched.
However, a confident display from Julia Setford's Hammers allowed them to see the remaining 20 minutes of game out as the hosts were reduced to ten players late in the game following a sending off.
