Carlton Cole has been a driving force in the Hammers standing on the brink of three league wins for the first time since 2007.
Cole has turned in match-winning performances off the bench in the last two fixtures at Hull City and Coventry City, and could well return to the starting lineup when Derby County arrive in east London this evening.
Certainly, team-mate George McCartney believes the No9 is in fantastic form - having known Cole since his first spell at the club - and said he gives the team "a big lift" and causes opposing teams "lots of problems" whenever he plays.
McCartney added: "The last time I was here, Coley was in and out of the team. He probably wasn't really settled. He was still scoring goals but since I have come back here, he has been terrific.
"He had an injury but came back in the last two games and changed them both really. He is taking players on, creating chances and scoring goals. Definitely, in the last two games, he has earned us the six points."
