Demba Ba has won the SBOBET player of the month award for May 2011.
In what was a difficult month for the team, the Senegal striker stood out for his valiant efforts to keep the team in the Barclays Premier League. He was presented with the trophy just before the kick-off against Sunderland.
Although missing from the lineup on Sunday with an abdominal injury, that could yet keep him out of international duty this month, Ba was particularly potent the week before with his double against Wigan Athletic. In all he scored seven goals in 12 appearances this season following his January arrival.
