Capital clash for Ladies

West Ham United Ladies will kick-off their FA Women's Premier League Southern Division campaign with a mouth-watering London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Hammers missed out on promotion to the National Division in dramatic fashion last season, when Cardiff City beat Keynsham Town to pip them to second place in their final fixture.

The 2011/12 season will begin with the short trip to newly-promoted South East Combination champions Tottenham on Sunday 21 August.

The following Sunday, 28 August, Julia Setford's side will host local rivals Millwall, who were relegated from the National Division last term.

After a trip to Keynsham on Sunday 4 September, South West Combination title winners Plymouth Argyle will visit Thurrock FC's Ship Lane on Sunday 11 September.

The five other teams competing in the Southern Division will be Brighton & Hove Albion, Portsmouth, Queens Park Rangers, Gillingham and Colchester.

Before the competitive fixtures begin, however, the Ladies face a series of challenging pre-season friendly matches, starting with a trip to Cambridge on Sunday 3 July.

The club has also made some changes to the way it is set-up ahead of the new season. The Under-19 side will no longer operate, while the Under-11s have now become an Under-10 team.
