West Ham United will travel to Sheffield Wednesday after the FA Cup third-round draw on Sunday afternoon.
The Hammers learned their fate in the draw conducted at The Football Association's Wembley headquarters by special guests including former manager Gianfranco Zola. The tie of the round for neutrals sees holders Manchester City at home to Manchester United.
West Ham, who won the competition in 1964, 1975 and 1980, will be hoping to avoid an upset against their League One hosts. The two clubs have met four times before in the country's premier cup competition, with one draw and three wins in Wednesday's favour over three ties.
The last meeting of the two teams was in the League Cup on 20 September 2005, when the Hammers won 4-2 at Hillsborough thanks to Bobby Zamora's double, Christian Dailly and David Bellion.
The tie will be played on the weekend of 7/8 January 2012.
