Parker departs

West Ham United can confirm the club have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Scott Parker.

The midfielder has moved to White Hart Lane after handing in an official written transfer request on Tuesday night, despite the best attempts of the Board and management to retain his services.

Parker, who turns 31 in October, played 129 times for the Hammers following his arrival from Newcastle United in summer 2007, scoring 12 goals.

The midfielder also forced his way back into the senior England squad in February this year due to his form in a claret and blue shirt, which saw him named Hammer of the Year three years running and the FWA Player of the Year.

West Ham United would like to place on record their thanks for Scott's efforts and wish him well for the future.
