Parker in England squad

Scott Parker is in England's squad for the upcoming 2012 UEFA European Championship qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales - with Robert Green withdrawing because of injury

The Hammers midfielder is in Fabio Capello's 25-man squad for the two potentially vital Group G matches, with England needing two victories to give themselves the best possible chance of edging ahead of joint-leaders Montenegro.

England travel to Sofia to take on Bulgaria on Friday 2 September before welcoming Jack Collison's Wales to Wembley on Tuesday 6 September. Parker has six caps to his name

Capello's side sit top of Group G, ahead of Montenegro on goal difference after both nations gathered eleven points from their opening five matches. Wales have no points, while Switzerland and Bulgaria have five apiece.

A host of Hammers who could feature at international level next week, with Collison, John Carew, Marek Stech and on-loan Pablo Barrera also called-up by Wales, Norway, Czech Republic Under-21 and Mexico respectively.
