West Ham United can confirm the London Legends Cup - the inaugural Football40 event at the Boleyn Ground - has been changed to Saturday 4 September.
Tickets for the original Sunday 30 May tournament will be valid for the new date. The London Legends Cup will feature a team of Hammers heroes up against rival capital clubs, with the likes of 85/86 stars Ray Stewart, Mark Ward and Alan Dickens taking part. Any fans unable to make the new date will be eligible for a full refund.
The London Legends Cup will enable all those taking part to revive past glories, while the fans will also be able to relive wonderful memories. This is not simply going to be a nostalgia trip though, the players want to dispel the image of old boys playing for fun or for charity - they all mean business as they aim to win the trophy.
Football40 enables the legends to play at full throttle for 20 minutes each way, aided by roll on and roll off substitutes, and play as they did in their prime. With two semi-finals and a final of high-level, fast-paced action featuring some of the game's greats, the London Legends Cup on Saturday 4 September promises to be well worth the wait.
