Luis Boa Morte has held clear-the-air talks with Chairman David Sullivan over negative comments the player gave to the BBC after the Manchester City match.
Boa Morte spoke to the Match of the Day programme after scoring in the 1-1 draw on Sunday, having missed the whole season until then with a knee injury. The midfielder has since called Mr Sullivan to apologise for his outburst and the club is pleased to say the matter has been amicably resolved.
Mr Sullivan said: "I greatly admire Luis as a player and he takes the passion he shows on the pitch into his personal life. Like me occasionally it boils over - so I know exactly where he is coming from."
After the cordial conversation on Monday, both the player and the Chairman agreed to put the matter behind them and move forward together in the best interests of West Ham United. The talks included the recognition the comments were based on a total misunderstanding of events and came straight after a match when emotions are high.
